The Traveling Heels

Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can rule the world.

Be The Next Dove Girl! (How I was ambushed to remove all my makeup during an event)

I was invited by Dove for their press and media lunch at Cafe Romulo in Makati. I didn’t know what the event was about so I just went there with my usual made up self. Val and I were running late already so I had to apply my makeup in the car. Little did I know that when we arrived, we were asked to wash off all the makeup on our face. HUHU. ;__; Good thing the Dove foam makeup cleanser and beauty bar were enough to remove my waterproof makeup!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like putting on thick makeup on a daily basis. Heck, I love going out without anything on my face at all and with my hair in a bun. But sadly, I can’t go out looking like crap anymore because I’m so embarrassed whenever someone walks up to me and asks if I’m Marj Sia. Not a good way to live up to my makeup artist name. LOL :))

After removing all our makeup, we were taken to the makeup booth wherein MAC makeup artists are trained to put very minimal makeup (sheer mineral makeup)~ like how they do it in all Dove campaigns and shoots. I told the MUA that I can do away without any makeup but I begged for pretty eyebrows. Haha!

The super pretty makeup artist who did my makeup was PONG NIU of MAC Cosmetics. She was wearing my favorite purple MAC lipstick, Heroine. I arrived with the same color which was a BIG NO-NO for Dove. Heehee.

Rowena and Michelle also looked stunning in their natural makeup.

Before the big reveal, Sarah Black gave a few words about Dove since she has worked with them during their previous campaigns. For the current one, she will choose 10 inspiring stories of real women and their photos will be in the new Dove LED Billboard and used in a grand exhibit later this year.

So this is how my Dove ad (sample only) turned out. The superphotographer/ supermodel Joan Bitangcol took this shot. I was an awkward turtle when she presented my photo to everyone and pointed out that I have a very SINCERE SMILE. I was like, oh-hoho, you have no idea… Joke! :))

You can be the next Dove girl, too!

Just use the Dove Beauty bar for 7 days then submit/upload your photo at http://facebook.com/Dove ~ It’s that simple!! :)

What are you waiting for!?!? GO NA!! :)
