The Traveling Heels

Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can rule the world.

OOTD: Pretty in Pastel

One of my best girl friends from the US visited me last week and took me to their fondant cake factory because she knew about my fondness for sweets- especially cakes!

Faded denim dress LEVI’s

It was perfect timing because I’m at a low point in my life right now. A lot of things aren’t going right and I am a bit of an emotional wreck. But I’m sure no one sees it because I’m a master at concealing my emotions in public. The afternoon I spent in her factory (not to mention chomping and nabbing fondant cake toppers) really turned things around.

Hard case hand bag/ satchel EVER NEW Melbourne

I took this bag to the counter the moment I saw it. Some clothes at Ever New may be hella expensive but all of their bags are very affordable. This is my 3rd one already in a span of a month!

Wedges MELISSA SHOES / GELEIA Mall of Asia

Don’t they look like they were made for me to wear together with my pastel bag?? Teehee. I immediately thought of an outfit post when I saw this at Geleia MOA. Melissa Shoes smell soooo nice! The scent gives me a nostalgic feeling; taking me back to my gradeschool days when scented stationaries were selling like hotcakes.

Although things have been chaotic in my life lately, I keep myself busy and try to stay away from things that will make me go insane. I need to make a confession though, I am currently addicted to “Heroine“…

.. Heroine lipstick by MAC Cosmetics, of course! I would never ever do drugs.. EVER! 8D This limited edition shade was from one of their summer collections. I was so sad that MAC Manila immediately got out of stock but I’m so happy a friend tracked it down for me abroad. I find myself applying lipstick even when I’m alone in my room!

*Hi, my name is Marj, and I am a MAC Heroine lipstick addict* :))

I hope MAC is already open at MOA by the time I go back. Most of the items in this post are from last week’s shopping spree. For now, don’t forget to enjoy the last 2 days of their end of season sale this weekend!

From Dull to Doll Eyes (LOTD)

Ever wonder how I transform my eyes into doll-like eyes? Here are a few tips and tricks using my current favorite makeup.

I started with Natural makeup so we can skip the basic steps like prime, powder, etc.~ lazy! :))

For this look, I used 3 coats of Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes. Even before I got into beauty blogging, I have always been a fan of Lancome makeup. It’s one of the few brands that I’m willing to splurge on. Sure, the price is not that affordable for students but trust me, all their products are worth your every penny.

I love the shape of the mascara wand because the tip makes it easy to apply mascara on the small strands of eyelashes like on the corner of our eyes or on our lower lash line. The mascara also has a light rose scent which I find very soothing. I sometimes find myself sniffing the product before applying it on my lashes. Don’t judge! haha :)

Since my lashes are a bit exaggerated, I used Lancome’s Ombre Absolue Palette in A110 Rose Romance because it has natural pink and brown shades. I guess ombre isn’t in for hair color only but also for eye makeup!

Here’s the finished look after 3 coats of mascara (without any clumping problem) and eye makeup. I added shimmer and lower lash falsies from Catwalk Cosmetics to make my eyes look bigger and more doll-like. These falsies have become my BFF’s because I always have a hard time applying mascara on my lower lashes because they’re too thin.

Contact lens: Colorblends GRAY Freshlook Contact Lens

For the lips, I used MAC Cosmetics limited edition Nicki Minaj lipstick.

The shade makes me think of a pink flamingo! :D

Wore my blonde wig and pouty duck face (lol) Ribbon ring & other Korean accessories will be available at the Superb Supersale Bazaar on May 23-27. Hope you can drop by!

Hope you enjoyed this LOTD. Stay pretty! :D

Halloween Makeup Tutorial: Glam-Rock Eye Makeup

Get ready to party like a rock star this halloween using this Glam-Rock eye makeup tutorial! But before anything, you will need the following eye makeup:

  1. Bright-colored Eyeshadows | Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Palette
  2. Eye Primer | Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
  3. Black Eyeliner | MAC Blacktrack gel eyeliner
  4. Nude Liner | Makeup Forever Lip Corrector
  5. *non-makeup related* but essential for this look: Rockstar Wig

STEP 1: Apply Eye Primer on your eyelids. This will make your eyeshadow appear brighter and stay on all night without any touch ups. Etude House’s Proof 10 Eye Primer is a steal at P200+ only compared to Urban Decay’s primer potion which is priced at over P1,200.

STEP 2: Apply white or silver eyeshadow over your lids. Stick to the shape of your eyeball. I used Catwalk’s Disco Silver.

STEP 3: Apply any bright warm shade (pink, red, violet) above the silver eyeshadow in this direction. You will form a shark’s fin-like shape. I used Catwalk’s Purple Lotus.

STEP 4: Using an eyeliner, draw a line above the purple eyeshadow. You can create a curve on the top part to make it look edgier.

STEP 5: Draw on your lids starting on your inner lash line. It is easier for me to work with a gel liner than an eye pencil because it glides on smoothly. Try MAC’s Blacktrack gel eyeliner. Or if you’re on a budget, Maybelline has a similar product.

STEP 6: (Optional) Add a 3rd color on your inner eyelids to make your eyes look more colorful and artsy. Catwalk’s shimmery Teal eyeshadow is the cherry on top of this look!

STEP 7: Using a nude pencil, draw on your lower lash line. You can also use a white pencil but it might look a bit anime-ish so stick with nude colors. Makeup Forever’s nude pencil is normally used to correct one’s lip shape (hence, the product name) but I discovered that it can be a *cheat* way to make your eyes appear bigger by using it as a liner.

STEP 8: Using a small and thin flat brush, apply pink or purple eyeshadow below the nude line. Once everything is done, glue on your falsies then you’re good to go!

BEFORE
*Shai is wearing Freshlook Colorblends Brown contact lens. This is their most natural contact lens color and yet, it adds a very dramatic effect to your eyes.

AFTER

Thank you Shai Lagarde of LoveChic for being my hot rockstar & Tricia Gosingtian for the lovely tutorial photos.

Remember, you don’t have to follow the colors that I used. Have fun and be creative by mix and matching different bright eyeshadows to achieve this look. I will be posting more Halloween makeup tutorials this month so keep coming back to my blog for more! If you have any requests, like my Facebook page and leave a comment here.

Enjoy this tutorial & keep on rocking!! ;)

Date with a Korean Popstar (OOTD+EOTD)

Last week, the Gondo Girls attended Kim Hyun Joong’s presscon for The Face Shop. All of us squeed like fangirls when we got the invite because it’s our first time to actually meet a Korean popstar. Even Valerie, our resident ‘quiet girl’, was so excited about the event that we planned what to wear as if we had a real date with a Korean popstar.

OOTD:
Dainty dress~ Forever21; Leather Satchel~ Zara/TRF; Platform Pumps~ Parisian.

HYPE this look on LOOKBOOK.
Thanks to Tricia for this gondo photo!

EOTD: Since my dress was already in Tiffany Blue, I went with Barbie Pink eyeshadow from Catwalk Cosmetics & my favorite limited edition matte lipstick from MAC, Candy Yum Yum for a little bit of contrast.

It was my first time to use Dolly Wink lashes #4. I was influenced by my fellow GG, Tricia Gosingtian and she swears by all the shoes in her room (lol) that Japanese falsies are the best. And yes, I definitely agree with that. I get bothered by generic or plastic falsies but with these lightweight lashes, I almost forgot that I had falsies on! The material is really great too. 5 stars for this product. ★★★★★

After my omg-i-survived-a-major-infection-abroad experience, I avoided wearing generic contact lenses. In fact, I sometimes try not to wear mascara too. So sad. ;_; I learned from my doctor that ‘Staph infection’ can also come from contact lenses so its best to only purchase them from optical shops.

I’m using Freshlook Colorblends Turquoise (previous photo) and I’ve been very attached to it. It is perfect for sweet, candy-themed looks like this one. There’s really a big difference between Freshlook contact lenses & generic ones because the lenses are softer and thiner. Therefore, making it more comfortable for anyone to use it for long hours.

Are you already a Freshlook user? Go on, tell me what you love about this product! :)

Marié Digby: How to get this romantic look ♥

A few days ago, I had the awesome opportunity to do makeup on Marié Digby (Youtube sensation/ singer/ song writer) together with the ‘Dream Team’ Tricia Gosingtian (Photography) Liz De Asis (Hair) & Valerie Chua (Headdress). Special thanks to our pageant queen and friend Alexis Go for introducing her to us!

Makeup used: (key makeup only)

  1. Marié brought along her own base/ liquid foundation because she’s afraid of breakouts when she doesn’t use this. Will reveal the brand on my next post; which will be a makeup interview with her.
  2. For the eyes, I used a mix of Catwalk Cosmetics eyeshadows. (Pearl White, Royal Blue & Black Noir.
  3. Bronzer & blush - MAC cosmetics Wonderwoman Golden Lariat Mineralize Bronzer then topped it off with a little Catwalk Cosmetics Tangerine blush.
  4. Lips - Etude House Lucid Darling #5 (lavender). Marié loved the color and scent of this lipstick. It’s one of my current favorites too.

We had a fun-filled afternoon while shooting this; followed by dinner and Happy Lemon. Marié is such a sweet and simple girl but she sure knows how to crack jokes. I’m looking forward to working with her & the dream team again! :>

Don’t forget to read my blog again for my interview with her plus tips on how to get the “Tangerine Kiss” look. ♥
