LANEIGE | Waterproof Makeup for the Rainy Days
During my last visit to SM Mall of Asia, I had a long stop over at LANEIGE. For those who haven’t tried it yet, it’s one of the popular makeup and skin care brands in Korea. And everyone knows I WORSHIP Korean brands.
They offer a wide variety of both skin care and makeup. According to my beauty blogger friends, their BB Cream is one of the best that they’ve tried.
Rowena Lei (animetric) never fails to mention Laneige whenever I ask for skin care recommendations. Maybe I’ll give it a try when my current moisturizer and emulsion runs out!
Their makeup may be more expensive than other Korean brands like Etude House, Tony Moly or The Face Shop but you’ll immediately know why after trying their products out. There’s a HUGE difference between their foundations and ordinary ones from the cheaper brands. But I guess they cater to a completely different market too so I can’t really compare them.
And oh, for those who are suckers for colorful things, Laneige isn’t all too serious, they also have makeup with cute packaging!
Out of all the products I tried, their Perfect Renew Dual Touch Eyes eye cream caught my eyes! This is the first time I’ve seen a 2-in-1 day and night eye cream. The ones I own are either dual purpose or just for night time use. The day one contains SPF and the night cream has minerals for skin repair. Cool, right? I’m definitely going to save up for this one!
After checking out their products, I wanted to slap myself for missing out on their bloggers’ event last year. But they were kind enough to send me this for review..
Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion. It was highly recommended by their brand manager and according to their SA, it sells like hotcakes.
Ironically, the product contains the word “Snow” but has high SPF (50+ PA+++) to prevent skin damage from UVA & UVB rays.
Each box contains a compact with 15g inside and a refill for you to use as soon as you run out. I think this is a great concept because the quality of your foundation changes as soon as you open it. So it’s good that you have a completely sealed one as backup.
Here’s how it looks inside. I’m shade #23 Sand Beige (mid-tone) It looks a bit dark in the photo because of my room’s yellow light. It’s called the soothing cushion because the BB cream is inside a sponge cushion.
Lightly press on it to get the product. The compact comes with a sponge but I’d rather use my clean fingertips so I don’t waste any ounce of it! :>
(BEFORE Photo) Since I just came from Guam, I’ve been under the sun for a few days so my skin looks terrible! I have visible sun spots, redness and blemishes everywhere! :(
(AFTER Photo) The Snow BB Soothing Cushion has great coverage because it can cover up all my flaws with just one coat. No need to put powder on top!
(WHEN WET Photo) The best thing about it is that it’s waterproof and is easy to remove with any facial wash. It’s perfect for the crazy, bipolar, rainy weather this month so you don’t have to worry about having a “The Notebook” scene with your date when you run under the rain. Teehee! :>

OOTD: Aquamarine | Nicki Minaj Presscon
It was a really hectic week for me when Nicki Minaj was in town but when I got invited by Globe Telecom to cover her presscon, I had to clear out my schedule for the whole day just to see one of my favorite crazy fashionista style icons.
I was supposed to wear a pink wig or dress but I figured it would be so cliche or I might end up looking like an avid Nicki Minaj fan. I’m more in love with her style than her music TBH. Used blonde clip ons to achieve this natural looking ombre!
My outfit was inspired by this look. But instead of wearing an aqua wig, I went for an aqua dress and pink accessories. I felt like a walking cotton candy machine! :))
My outfit was attracting so much attention thanks to my bright yellow bag and shoes and giant fluffy fox tail.
Bag BRAUN BÜFFEL | Faux Fox Tail HONG KONG
My fingers were like an antique library with animal heads!
Rabbit & Deer Ring HONG KONG | Owl & Leopard Ring Forever 21
Shoes So! Fab
The only photo I got aside from my OOTD, with co-blogger Analyn. Sadly, cameras weren’t allowed during the presscon! So I’m sorry if you’re on my page now to see Nicki. T__T
But don’t worry, I was able to take loads of nice photos during her concert, which is up next on my blog! Stay tuned and stay pretty, ladies! <3
Shopping LVL: ASIAN (Not a 9gag post)
What do you usually wear when you’re going shopping? Normally, I like to be in my “lazy attire” and when I say lazy I mean pambahay (house) clothes and flip flops because I get so stressed about the thought of carrying huge shopping bags and walking around the mall all dressed up with my usual 5-inch stiletto pumps.
But last week, Vern, Patrish, Danah and I were convinced to shop in style at The Mall of Asia. The photo above looks like we’re about to enter a club or a cocktail party because we were all in heels!
Black Chiffon Top & Leopard Mullet Skirt from HEIR | Bag PRADA
I hate my big arms so I’m really fond of sheer cover ups so I don’t have to worry when our bipolar weather suddenly becomes warm.
Layered 2 bib necklaces from SM Accessories. I swear, their stuff are so classy but inexpensive. I rarely find myself shopping for accessories at Hong Kong anymore since I discovered how much they have leveled up their designs!
YSL Tribute-insipred shoes from Parisian. Got these during the Bloggers’ Pictorial party. Every time I wear it out, my friends ask me how much I got them for. They assume that it’s from some expensive brand. :> We walked around the whole mall from 1pm to 6pm and my feet were still alive!!!
While we were strolling around, I got separated from the girls because I checked out the sale stuff at The Body Shop. You’ll see why I got distracted when I post the sale items tomorrow!
Good thing I bumped into David Guison and dragged him to our flock. Teehee.
He’s really one of the girls, don’t you think? :)) Sorry for the torture!! :))
Here’s a group photo from Maldita. I got a few nice party clothes and clutch bags there. So excited to make an outfit post using the asymmetrical one-sided leather dress! XD
Here’s the BIG secret on how you can also shop in style at The Mall of Asia… Request for a personal package pickup!!!! It really saved my feet because all those heavy bags would have made it harder for me to shop! And the best part is, this service is FREE OF CHARGE! Just request for one at the concierge! :)
After a long day of shopping, the girls and I (plus David) went to Lugang Cafe for our super late lunch/ early dinner. I gotta admit, their xiao long bao is by far the BEST in Manila!
Everyone was busy tweeting/ instagraming/ Facebook-ing while waiting for our orders.
Yiheeee Pat, who are you texting!? :p
I bet David is asking his blockmates for tomorrow’s assignment.. :)) I still can’t believe that he’s still in college! I feel so old. ;__;
Don’t forget to shop in style at The Mall of Asia’s end of season sale from July 6-15!!
If the package pickup service doesn’t convince you to wear heels, I’ll carry you myself! haha juuuust kidding! Hope to see you there!! :)
OOTD: 50 Shades of Blue | MOA Style Ambassador
Here’s my favorite outfit out of the 3 layouts from our shoot for The Mall Of Asia end of season sale. They asked us to prepare a casual but classy look so I kept my clothes simple but used elegant accessories and colorful shoes.
Necklace EVER NEW MELBOURNE.
I am soooo in love with this piece!! I wish I could have kept it. It’s still haunting me in my sleep. ;__;
Enjoy my colorful ombre hair while it’s still here. I am going to have a DRASTIC hair makeover soon. ;)
Accessories FOREVER 21 Philippines.
They’re opening a branch at The Mall of Asia before the month ends! Hope it doesn’t fall on my Guam trip. :s
Color Block Heels CMG Philippines.
Just like the blue necklace, I wish I could keep this one too! HUHU. Been eyeing this pair since I saw them worn by various bloggers but I have to keep my word to my mom that I will abstain from buying shoes or else she will throw out whatever doesn’t fit in my shoe closet. @__@ You can buy this pair at CMG MOA branch. They might have it on sale! :D
Here’s an outtake from the casual and classy layout of our shoot. :>
And here is the final outcome of our party themed shoot! See our behind the scenes photos HERE.
I felt like I was dreaming when I got this photo this morning. I’m very thankful for all the blessings coming my way recently. I wouldn’t have made it this far if it weren’t for friends, family and of course, my beloved readers and followers. SENDING A BIG THANK YOU GIGIL HUG TO EVERYONE. 8D
I’ll be shopping again at The Mall of Asia again this week to hunt for some more sale items. Follow me on Twitter to stay updated on my schedule so we can shop together and I’ll treat 2 followers to coffee or a smoothie! Hope to see you there!!! :)
