Catwalk Cosmetics Makeup Workshop (December 8, 2012)

The year is coming to an end so I came up with a makeup workshop that is packed with loads of activities, new makeup techniques and of course, tons of freebies from Catwalk Cosmetics & our special partner brands.

ALL students will get to take home a personal brush set, gifts from partners and depending on their chosen package*, they can save a lot when they avail of Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Eyeshadow & Blush palette and Sculpt & Contour set during the class.

Available packages:
A (P2,800) Includes Makeup brush set, Harajuku eyeliner, falsies, Etude House eyeshadow pot and gifts from partner brands.
B (P3,800) Makeup brush set, Harajuku liner, falsies, Sophia Milano Eyeshadow Trio, Catwalk Cosmetics Sculpt & Contour set (photo above) and gifts from partner brands.
C (P4,250) Makeup brush set, Harajuku liner, falsies, Catwalk Cosmetics 18-color Eyeshadow & Blush Runway Palette, Sculpt & Contour set (photo above) and gifts from partner brands.
Not only will you get to take home Catwalk Cosmetics makeup but ALL students will also get to take home the following gifts from our partner brands..

ETUDE HOUSE Sauna Kit - Honey Face Pack + Petit Bijou/ Yogurt Peel

NIVEA Angel Star lotion, Fresh & Pure baby wipes (or makeup removers), Fruity Shine lip balm and Sparkling White facial wash.

BLACK BEAUTY Shampoo and my favorite, their hair cuticle!!

And last, the candy that’s always present in my bag, Rio Mints!
All items included in the gift bag are worth over P2-3k.*
Here’s a sample work of one of our students from our Day & Night class. Impressive, huh? ;)

For my last session this year, we’ll be tackling ALL the basic necessities in doing your own makeup.
- Skin Care Routine
- Day & Night Makeup (from primer to powder to adding color on the eyes-face-lips)
- Sculpting and contouring/ re-shaping the face
- Falsies application
- Ask me anything! ;)
Again, ALL MAKEUP will be provided by us so you don’t need a makeup kit to join. Beginners are VERY welcome in my class! By the way, the most frequent question I get is, “what’s the age limit?” —-NONE! I’ve had students who are only 15 and so far the oldest was 56. She was a hip mom who went with her daughter. :D So there, don’t be shy! It’s a great way to make new friends who are also into makeup too! :>
Schedule: DECEMBER 8 (Saturday) 1-5pm! The venue is at our private studio in Pasig City. It’s not too far from Tiendesitas. The exact address/location will only be e-mailed to confirmed students because we want to avoid walk-ins.
I will only accept a maximum of 12 students so enroll now by sending your full name & e-mail address plus preferred package to 0917-8929289 or marj_sia@yahoo.com (I prefer SMS). Only 50% is required to save a slot so you still have time to save. Hope to see you there!! :)

Myrtle Sarrosa for Lolita Cologne BTS & Launch Party

I got the special privilege to do Myrtle Sarrosa’s (PBB Teen Winner/ Cosplayer) makeup for Lolita Cologne last August. She is by far one of the nicest, down to earth celebrities I have worked with! Plus, she’s a natural at modeling too! Here’s a recap of our BTS from the shoot~

Thanks for the opportunity Paul!!

This is one of my favorite sets so I had to have a photo taken with her!

Out of all the sets, the makeup in her gothic lolita set was my favorite. She loved the red eyes and violet lips I used on her. Of course, I used Catwalk Cosmetics Runway palette for both. I mixed the eyeshadow with a little Vaseline to create the lip color. :p
All of the wigs used in the shoot (except for the pink one) are also from Catwalk Cosmetics. Check out the other designs HERE.

I had loads of fun with Myrtle, Paul & Bestie during the shoot. I even shared some of my beauty secrets with Myrtle and she immediately headed out to the salon to have *those services* done. Teehee. :>
~~~~~ Lolita Launch! ~~~~~~
The launch was indeed a big success. they were able to transform 55 Events Place in QC into a doll house!
I was so proud when I saw Myrtle with my wig on all the press kits!! <3
The stage was really cute. So sad I was fixing my things at the dressing room when Myrtle popped out of the doll house.
Myrtle & friends.
Host, Janeena Chan, with Myrtle & Paul.
Blogger friends Sarah Tirona, Tracy Ayson & Aisa Ipac.
Mikki Galang, loyal client of Catwalk Cosmetics had the same wig as Lolita Myrtle!! haha XD
I wouldn’t have let the night end without a photo with the star of the night! Thank you again sooooo much Myrtle for being such a great model. Stay sweet!! <3
My fave scent is Cospink. What’s yours??
Catwalk Cosmetics Makeup Workshop: Sculpt & Contour (9 slots only!)
After my 3-month long break from holding workshops, I’m having my first and only sculpt, contour and basic/ personal makeup workshop! Don’t be intimidated by the title, BEGINNERS & NEWBIES are VERY welcome in this class. :)
What’s included:
August was really nice to me so I feel like being generous for this session. ALL of the products above are included in the package. Meaning, the students get to take home all the makeup used after class! And for those who are just beginning and don’t have a starter kit, ALL other makeup and tools will be provided in class. All you have to do is attend. :))
Both package A & B includes Nivea products, makeup brush set and a 10-piece assorted flirty falsies set. (Package A : P3,800)
We’ll have falsies application in class for the 1st time. Yey!
All students get to learn how to contour or shape their face with Catwalk Cosmetics’ latest contour palette! For package A, Sophia Milano eyeshadow trio will be provided.
While package B (P4,500) includes the Catwalk Cosmetics 18-color eyeshadow and blush Runway Palette.
Each student will also take home a set of Black Beauty hair care products! :)
Since there are too many freebies for this one-time workshop, I will only accept 9 students. A P200 discount will be given if the student enrolls (50% downpayment) on or before September 15,2012. The rest of the fee can be paid a day before the workshop. So there’s still time to save! :)
Raid my closet this weekend!!!
The Bloggers United team will be at the Supersale Bazaar this weekend, July 13-15 from 10am-9pm at The World Trade Center. I *might* be there until Saturday only though because of a family gathering so I hope you can drop by today or tomorrow!
It’s Friday the 13th today but you can get lucky by going to my booth reaaally early because I will be selling loads of discounted stuff that I bought impulsively. For example, last I’m Shoe In Love, I hoarded TONS of IPANEMA flip flops because they were around P300 only @ 60% off but to my dismay, some didn’t fit my mom and sister’s feet! Boo. So I’ll be selling them at the SAME CRAZY PRICES I got them. :D And as usual, there will be a rack full of Forever 21, H&M, The Ramp, etc. clothes!
Catwalk Cosmetics products will also be there. Since July is sale season, a lot of products are MARKED DOWN for clearance! So please, do drop by because this is our last bazaar before Christmas season!! Hope to see you there!! :>
“MAKEUP Your Mind” (Magazine feature)
I was invited by ZEN Health Magazine to contribute a beauty article for their May - July 2012 issue. It was my first time to actually write for a publication so I was worried about how it would turn out. I was feeling inspired last summer so I think I did a pretty good job. Let me know what you think. :)
Enjoy! :>
“MAKEUP Your Mind”
Whether it’s an ordinary occasion or a special event, there’s always the dilemma of deciding which type of makeup to put on. Instead of bugging your friends or creating a Facebook poll, let your mood make the choice for you!
**LOOK #1 Clean and Casual**
Natural makeup will never go out of style. This look is very versatile- it can be worn during the day or night time. Stick with earth or rose tones for the eyes, cheeks and lips. Majolica Majorca’s blood On Lip & Cheek Tint is perfect for those who have a hard time finding a blush that matches their lipstick. Groomed brows are a must since you only have plain makeup on so apply some brow gloss to accentuate those pretty eyebrows.
Key Makeup/ makeup suggestions:
Lancome - Ombre Absolue Palette Sparkling Eye Colour Quad in A110
Lancome - L’Absolu Nu Lipstick in 106
Majolica Majorca - Blood On Lip & Cheek Tint
Makeup Forever - Brow Corrector #0
**LOOK #2 Colorful and Playful**
If you’re feeling playful, apply bright neon shades to match your giddy mood. Be bold, wild and free when choosing colors for this look. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your makeup because it’s a great way to discover a different side of yourself. Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Eyeshadow & Blush Palette has high-pigment colors that will surely get people to notice your makeup. Be scarce when applying blush especially when you already have bold colors on your eyes and lips. Want to make blending eyeshadows even more fun? Get a colorful or pretty-colored brush set like Charm’s 14-pc Pretty in Pink vegan Brush Set.
Key Makeup:
Catwalk Cosmetics - Runway Eyeshadow & Blush Palette
Lime Crime - Countessa Flourescent Lipstick
Etude House - My Wish Cheek Blush
Charm 14-pc Pretty in Pink Vegan Brush Set
**LOOK #3 Smokey and Sultry**
It’s all in the eyes when you’re talking about the Smokey look. There are various ways and colors to create this effect but the most popular one would be the smokey black eye. For this look, you’re allowed to layer on tons of black eyeshadow topped with a fierce eyeliner and mascara. Tony Moly’s Backstage Self Smokey Eye comes with a cream liner, brush and 2 eyeshadow shades. It’s an all-in-one set to create the sexy smokey eye.
Key Makeup:
Majolica Majorca - Lash King Mascara
Royal Effem - Velvet Kohl Eyeshadow
Tony Moly - Backstage Self Smokey Eye (Gray Smoky)
MAC - Penultimate Eye Liner
What It Really Means to be Free | Bloggers United 3
I guess it’s a bit too late to greet everyone a Happy Independence day. In fact, I’m way behind schedule for a lot of posts since I’ve been out of the blogging radar for about 3 weeks now so here’s an Independence Day Nail Art to welcome myself back into the blogging world. It is of course, inspired by the Philippine flag.
I’ve been struggling with a lot of personal problems since the beginning of May and I’ve never felt lonelier. I thought that I could escape them by keeping myself extra-busy. But Instead, I got sick to the point that I had fever as high as 39.5 and I couldn’t find the strength to get out of bed. Proof that stress can indeed lead to sickness! :| Good thing I got well before the Supersale Bazaar & Bloggers United 3. I am very thankful to everyone who dropped by our booth to support us. (Grabbed random photos from the internet because I forgot to take photos! @_@)
All the sleepless nights from doing inventory and hours of standing up and entertaining inquiries was all worth it because I got to meet a lot of new and interesting people and of course, our very special readers! I’ve never experienced having a bazaar for 2 consecutive weeks so that really kept me distracted from the problem that I was trying to divert my attention from. And oh, did I mention, I was supposed to be a bridesmaid for a wedding on the same day as BU3? Obviously… I didn’t go. I love BU THIS much. :))
I’m also glad I made a new found becky friend, JP Singson! His family is such an inspiration to mine because we’ve never seen parents as supportive as his. I’m glad our booths were beside each other at the Supersale Bazaar because I would have gone nuts without a becky by my side for 5 days. I am such a fag hag. Haha!! We also found out that our dads knew each other since the 80’s and are both in the car industry. Small world, huh? XD
(word vomit and drama ahead)
After overcoming the busy week and Bloggers United 3, I realized that running away from a problem doesn’t free you from it. I found myself in an empty room with a heavy heart and a rattled mind. I was back to phase 1 and I had to face whatever I had to deal with prior to all the hulabaloo— I had to face my own emotions.
Earlier this year I talked about moving on with my life despite all the unanswered questions and ‘what ifs’ standing in my way. But one can’t just turn away from these things because they’re meant to be dealt with. Just because I act happy and bubbly all the time doesn’t mean I’m okay. And just because I’m single now doesn’t mean I’m free from the past. In fact, I’ve been living with the past for years now and recent events only made it worse so I found myself breaking down after weeks of pretending to be okay.
I know it wasn’t a wise decision to just go AWOL from blogging but it’s what I needed to get my mind off things. Most of the time I just stayed home and had loads of ‘me time’ so I could reflect on my mistakes. I know everything that I’ve been typing here sounds so vague but let’s just say I had to make a choice between reality and morality; the reality of finally getting the answer to my ‘what if’ VS my principles in life.
Aaah I sound so senseless but my point is, in order to be free from everything, you must face your problems because you can run all you want but your problems will always run faster than you. There’s also nothing wrong about taking a little time off because it could be your reset button to life. I’m glad I did because I feel much better now than I did a month ago and I’m ready to take on my backlogs which is a list longer than Rapunzel’s hair. Ow em. XD
My advice to those who are also in the process of healing themselves or recovering from a heartbreak or unrequited love: Stop thinking that he’s the one that got away. Instead, think of yourself as the one who got away.. From all of his mind games and drama. Always be the better person and walk away from someone who doesn’t treat you right. Every girl deserves to be loved and no arrogant a*hole is deserving of ours.
xoxo ;) (for the lack of a better ending)
Supersale Bazaar x Win Tickets to Bloggers United 3!
I’ll be at the Superb Supersale Bazaar at SMX-Mall of Asia from May 23-27, 10am-9pm. Try to go on the first day because I’ll be displaying all the nice clothes, shoes and accessories I got from my recent Hong Kong trip.
*My booth is on the leftmost side of the hall, together with all the other bloggers. :>
Catwalk Cosmetics makeup and hair extensions will also be displayed and everything will have a special marked-down price. So try to go, I promise, it will be worth it! You can choose between two dates: April 21 or 28. Both are Saturdays and classes run from 1pm to 5pm at a private studio in Pasig City. We want to avoid people showing up unexpectedly so we will only email the complete address after confirmation. :)
*For inquiries or reservations: 0917-8929289
There are 2 options/ packages for the class:
- Package A: Inclusive of Makeup brush Set + Gift bag worth over P2k. (Price: P3,500)
- Package B: Makeup Brush Set + Gift Bag worth over P2k + Catwalk Cosmetics 18 Color Runway Palette worth P1,100 (Price: P4,250, save P750 on the palette)
Beginners are VERY MUCH WELCOME. In fact, you don’t need to own any makeup because all materials will be provided by Etude House Philippines. You will get to use the latest and hottest products from my favorite Korean Makeup brand! :D
Prior to makeup application, I’ll discuss the proper skin care routine using Garnier Pure Active products. It’s perfect for our hot weather right now because acne usually appear when we sweat a lot.
Of course, we also need the proper sun care to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun using Nivea Sun products.
Aside from the skin care routine, we’ll be having Freshlook Contact lens’ Dra. Romualdez to teach us the proper way to wear and take care of contact lenses.
You’ll see that you don’t have to put your eyes at risk by using cheap giant circle lenses to achieve the “Korean look”. :>
ALL STUDENTS will get to take home goodies from all the brands mentioned above plus Dove Hair products,
Tonic Bags and Shoes Gift Certificates and..
Extreme Finds Accessories Gift Certificates.
And last but not the least, everyone gets to take home makeup cupcakes from SugaRush Cakes & Pastries! I still can’t get over the Angry Birds makeup kit cake I got for my birthday last year. haha :)
Now, let me introduce to you 2 pretty ladies that will be participating in our workshop..
Meet Vern and Verniece Enciso! :) They’re one of the top fashion bloggers in Manila today and I sort of have a *girl crush* on them. Heehee! I hope they don’t get creeped out after reading this! :)) But c’mon, they look like porcelain dolls!! :D
They will be joining us on APRIL 21 (Sat) so if you’re an avid reader of their blog, here’s your chance to spend a day with them and learn the basics of skin care, contact lens care and makeup application.
I guarantee you, it will be a fun-filled afternoon with Q&A’s, picture taking and meeting new friends. Slots are limited to send your FULL NAME & E-MAIL ADDRESS to 0917-8929289 to reserve a slot. Only 50% deposit is required. There will be a maximum of 10 students per class only so register now! :)
****You can grab the discount code from Vern & Verniece’s blogs or simply include “MARJ_CATWALK” when enrolling via text to get 10% off the fee for April 21. It’s the first time we’re offering a discount for the fee so grab the opportunity now! :)
Tribute Shoes GCs + Last Makeup Workshop + A big THANK YOU!
I’ve been MIA for the longest time here on Tumblr. The ber-months have been quite crazy and I’m losing all my hair from juggling my projects, makeup job, online & family business that I pretty much forgot to update my blog. So here goes backlog #1! :)
I stumbled upon an online shop that sells really cute and classy flats. I told myself that it’s about time I got a decent pair for myself when I saw these Berlin flats from TRIBUTE SHOES.
First impression: They remind me of Chanel quilted bags! *loove* I’m hoping I can get a Chanel bag for myself this Christmas. I have to sell a bunch of my precious belongings first; my dog included. Kidding! :) So here’s my first ever post wearing flats..
Ta-dah! I wore this during our Makeup Workshop last November 26. So happy I have another comfy pair of flats aside from my Ipanema flip-flops. My mom is quite impressed with this pair because she’s never seen me wear ballet flats because they’re not that flattering on me. This one on the other hand, doesn’t make me look like a Beagle or Welsh Corgi because it’s pointed! (OOTD: Cotton-On chiffon top over striped H&M dress)
They’re very comfy and cushiony so despite standing up for over 5 hours, my feet didn’t hurt at all! :) I chose the silver one among all the pretty colors because almost all my accessories are silver. (In this photo: Forever 21 rings & Charriol bangle and watch)
**** GET P200 OFF CODE: “TributeMarj” ****
If you plan to order a pair from Tribute Shoes, use the code above and like their Facebook page, share their link on your FB or simply reblog this entry to instantly get P200 off your order/s! :) *For regular-priced BERLIN flats only. Valid Until january 30, 2012*
Announcement #2:
~~ LAST MAKEUP WORKSHOP DECEMBER 10 (This Saturday!!!) ~~
Basically, it will be the same as our last 2 workshops:
ALL students get to take home a makeup brush set. Makeup will be provided by Etude House so you don’t have to bring anything but yourself and be prepared for loads of fun while learning the proper application of makeup!
The class is open to all ages and beginners are VERY welcome.
I had loads of fun teaching my previous class. So kilig that one of my students was Sophie, the brainchild of Sophie’s Mom bakery. 8D
Everyone got to take home goodies such as a Nivea skin care set, Yhansy accessories and TRIBUTE SHOES GC’s so I think most of them got a new pair for themselves too. :D
Thank you to my childhood bully CRISSEY for being such an entertaining guest and for taking these photos during the workshop. Read her review HERE.
And of course, thank you to everyone who have attended my workshops this 2011. Catwalk Cosmetics was just an experimental/ for-fun brand and I wouldn’t have continued it if it weren’t for the support of my friends and readers. *Big hugs and kisses to everyone!!* So yes, Catwalk is here to stay and I have loads of new products coming your way soon!! :,)
DECEMBER 10 Catwalk Cosmetics Makeup Workshop ~ Fee is P3,500 (before was 4,500) inclusive of makeup brush set + Nivea, Yhansy, Tribute & Koi Swimwear gifts. 1-5pm at a private studio in Pasig City. Address will be sent via e-mail after confirmation. This will be the last workshop for the year 2011 and will resume on February 2012.
We only have 3 slots left so hurry and reserve a slot now by sending your full name & e-mail address to 0917-8929289.
Don’t just shine, SPARKLE!! ✩ [Late Birthday Giveaway!]
Makeup is like painting; one must always start with a clean canvas to come up with a brilliant masterpiece. A lot of people think that having great makeup is the secret of celebrities and models to having beautiful photos but in fact, they won’t look ravishing if they don’t have a clean face to begin with.
Being a beauty blogger, I have to test several products and try on countless makeup looks every week. It’s really hard to maintain a clean and pimple-free face given that I’m always in full-makeup during events and I doodle on my face whenever I’m bored. Hence, the vain pictures in this entry. :>
I love trying out new looks every chance I get. It takes me about an hour to apply makeup on myself even if I have already memorized the anatomy of my face because my goal is always to look flawless with as LITTLE makeup as I can apply. I think I’d rather step out with zero makeup than with bad makeup. *lol* And when I have pimple/s, I’d rather stay home than put on a thick layer of concealer over it because makeup will only worsen acne problems.
Some people assume that I have no skin problems whatsoever because I always look made up but I am struggling with BIG PORES on the nose area. I’m afraid that pimples might pop out after a night of makeup testing-galore especially when it’s my first time to test out a product.
That’s why prior to and after applying makeup on my face, I always wash my face squeaky clean with Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Facial Wash to remove all dirt and oil to avoid my pores from clogging.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been using this product for over 2 weeks now and it has improved my skin a lot.
My face is less oily even after going around the metro for errands and projects. Now I don’t have to worry about getting unwanted guests on my face like zits or pimples after being a makeup guinea pig! Hee :>
(Thanks to Patrick Uy for the photo above.) This was taken after a week of using Nivea Sparkling White Foam and I can see why the product is named that because I look so white and clean, kulang nalang I sparkle like glitters in real life!
