Lay Bare Robinsons Magnolia Grand Opening
We were invited to the grand opening of Lay Bare waxing salon in Robinsons Magnolia last month. Thank God they opened a branch in the new mall because I’ve been hanging a lot there lately.
With bloggers from manilashopper.com, Anagon & Ms. Monique Hilario, one of the owners of Lay Bare. Her sister, Fiona, is currently in the US because they opened a brand in CALIFORNIA! How cool is that?! :D
I spent the afternoon bonding with Anagon before having services done. :D
In case you didn’t know, Lay Bare uses cold sugar wax, which makes the waxing almost painless. They just roll/massage the wax on areas where you have unwanted hair.
I had a full leg wax that day. It’s one of my secrets to having super white and shiny looking legs (mehganon?) :))
After waxing, it’s best not to wet the areas at all to avoid ingrown hair or infections. Trust me, I’ve experienced having ingrown hair and you won’t like the feeling. :| So far, I’ve been having all my waxing services done at Lay Bare since they opened back in 2007. That’s how I became acquainted with the owners even if I wasn’t into blogging back then. ;D

Myrtle Sarrosa for Lolita Cologne BTS & Launch Party
I got the special privilege to do Myrtle Sarrosa’s (PBB Teen Winner/ Cosplayer) makeup for Lolita Cologne last August. She is by far one of the nicest, down to earth celebrities I have worked with! Plus, she’s a natural at modeling too! Here’s a recap of our BTS from the shoot~

This is one of my favorite sets so I had to have a photo taken with her!
Out of all the sets, the makeup in her gothic lolita set was my favorite. She loved the red eyes and violet lips I used on her. Of course, I used Catwalk Cosmetics Runway palette for both. I mixed the eyeshadow with a little Vaseline to create the lip color. :p
All of the wigs used in the shoot (except for the pink one) are also from Catwalk Cosmetics. Check out the other designs HERE.
I had loads of fun with Myrtle, Paul & Bestie during the shoot. I even shared some of my beauty secrets with Myrtle and she immediately headed out to the salon to have *those services* done. Teehee. :>

The launch was indeed a big success. they were able to transform 55 Events Place in QC into a doll house!
I was so proud when I saw Myrtle with my wig on all the press kits!! <3
The stage was really cute. So sad I was fixing my things at the dressing room when Myrtle popped out of the doll house.

David Guetta | Captain Morgan
After a week of being confined in my room and literally not getting out of bed because of my strange sickness, I realized that I have backlogs as long as NLEX and SLEX combined. :))
Here’s a recap of what happened at David Guetta’s show in The Arena last month.
We arrived late and got to enjoy the last few sets of Alesso. I can’t believe I missed it!! I swear, he had waaay better song sets that night than David Guetta.
Of course, the crowd went wild when David went out. His opening song was none other than his uber famous ‘Titanium’. I was already having a happy buzz thanks to Captain Morgan Rum.
I only had a few photos that night because we kept moving around. From having Patron seats, we ended up at the VIP section. Don’t ask how. *wink*

It was a new experience for us to attend an event like this at The Arena. I’m more used to Republiq since that’s where the real party scene is, plus, it’s easier to get booze! :p
After the last set, we headed up to the deck and had unlimited Captain Morgan!! Everyone was already super buzzed. Yo-ho-ho.
Thanks again for the David Guetta tickets, Captain Morgan/ Diageo!! The night wouldn’t have been a good one without CM Rum! :>

Laura Mercier: Back to the 20’s (Holiday 2012 launch & products)
It’s back to blogging for me again after cramming for my crazy but successful birthday bash/ blogger sparty at Entice The Salon. I’m also working on something BIG to be released this weekend on my blog so stay tuned for that. ;)
I attended Laura Mercier’s Art Deco Holiday 2012 collection launch last month at Prive in The Fort. The theme was something that I’ve never had before~ The 1920’s!
Obviously, all the women dressed up as flapper dancers. Hands down to the super bling bling ensemble of Sarah Tirona! :)
Martha & Paul also came up with an effortless 1920’s look.
Laura Mercier’s global makeup artist, Jeffrey Tasker, livened up the whole room as soon as he stepped on the stage.
There were 3 masked women that were ready to share their secret weapons/ Laura Mercier products with us…
First up was Laura Mercier’s uber-famous tinted moisturizer. I’ve heard of so many raves about this product. It’s actually how I heard about the brand. Look at how flawless she looks! It’s already available in compact form now so those who love to do makeup in the car will have an easier time applying it. XD
Next up, we have Creme Smooth Lip Color Creme in Red Amour. Later on, jeffrey showed us how “kiss-proof” this product is by his ‘special’ demonstration.
I’ll be honest, I’m not so sure which product they revealed on the last one but I think it was their eyeshadow. I was already pre-occupied with making weekend plans at that time…

So when Jeffrey realized that the crowd was becoming restless, he did this craaazy thing. He applied lipstick on himself (without a mirror!) and continued hosting the event.
We couldn’t stop laughing because he looked so funny!! He would make a great host for ANY event.
Sarah was lucky enough to get a big smack from him when she claimed her prize on stage.
After the event, I went around to check out the products by the stage. I reaaally liked the scent of their latest Vanilla Bath & Body line. I think I might get a set for my parents this Christmas.
I was able to get ahold of Paul for a 1920’s photo. He doesn’t seem to like the idea of being tangled by a feather boa though. haha!
Thank you Rustan’s and Laura Mercier for letting me take home these goodies! These have never left my dresser or makeup kit since I got them. Been using them on a daily basis.
Normally, I don’t like using concealer on a daily basis, but I see to it that I grab Laura Mercier’s Undercover Pot on my way out whenever I’m in a hurry. It’s a 3-in-1 pot that includes 2 type of concealers; one for dark circles and one for pimples or other facial imperfections. The powder underneath the concealers is a loose setting powder. I use this after applying all my makeup or when re-touching.
One makeup that i always neglect would be lip liner. I guess I’m always in a hurry so i don’t have the luxury of time to line my lips and apply lipstick perfectly every time but I try my best to do so with this Praline (coral/nude) lip pencil. It goes perfectly with the nude nail polish from Laura Mercier’s Fall 2012 nail lacquer collection.
Out of all the things I got, their Flawless Skin Tone Perfecting Cream is my favorite! You can see in this photo that it’s already almost half empty since I’ve been using it for a month. My skin never had any allergic reactions even on the 1st try! Aside from its tone-correcting/ perfecting promise, it serves as a great makeup base too. :)

Adam Levine x Bench Presscon
I got invited to Adam Levine’s super private and intimate presscon for Bench at Salon De Ning when he was in the country for a concert. I’m so sad I didn’t have any time to blog about this immediately. I had no idea being an events organizer was so time consuming. Good thing my big event is already done so it’s back to regular programming/ blogging! :)
It was my first time to attend a press event with Crissey. I felt like I was baby sitting my little sister. haha!!
Bumped into the Enciso sisters. Verniece noticed my super clean makeup right away. She was shocked to see that my face was so bare and colorless, plus, I was wearing PANTS! Hee. :>
I also saw other blogger friends like Robbie Becroft, Laureen Uy & Patricia Prieto.
This photo is intriguing in so many ways. Michael Lim, aka FashionPulis looks like he’s whispering a very juicy tidbit to Cecile Von Straten (chuvaness). Hmm, I wonder who or what it’s about? :p
Tessa Prieto-Valdes took the spotlight (and a lot of space) when she entered the room with her flambouyant ensemble. When complimented by Adam during the presscon, she teasingly said that her outfit was “Victoria’s Secret inspired”. Pun intended. Adam paused for a few seconds before realizing what she meant by that statement. Nice one, Tita Tessa!!

Almost all of the international celebrities that I’ve seen in real life disappointed me because they looked waaaaaay better on TV. But Adam was a complete opposite. He looked more rugged and lean on TV whereas in real life, he looked so clean and buff!! LOVE!!!!! *clinging on to panties* :)))))))
Congratulations again to Sir Ben Chan for bagging another big time icon for Bench. I wonder, who will be next?

SEBAGO: Test the Waters
I rarely set aside my heels for flats during events. So when I do, it must be for a damn good brand like Sebago.
Val & I were invited to their event at Greenbelt 3 to check out their latest collection.
In no way was I going to remove my heels while standing beside Val so I stayed far away from her while trying on shoes :))
Val got a pair of Sebago Balas while I opted for a more rugged one. I remember my brother telling me that Sebago is well-known for their boat shoes so I didn’t try on any other type of shoes.
After rummaging through the different colors of Sebago Docksides, I fully understood why my male friends are crazy about it. Not only are their designs classy, but they’re very comfortable too.
This pair immediately caught my eye as soon as I entered the store. I was so devastated when I found out they only had 2 pairs left and none of them were in my size. ;__;
So I went for the next best thing, a similar one, but it’s also sold out in size 7. I was making a puppy dog pouty face to the store attendant so he called up other branches to check for my size but they were really fresh out of this design. *heartbreak*
They told me that Sebago loyalists and collectors are crazy buyers because they only released the collection a few weeks before the event and some unique designs, like this one, are already out of stock thanks to them. Who wouldn’t go crazy over a pair of bright colored, hand sewn pair of Sebagos, right?
Nevertheless, they had a wide variety of colors to choose from so I narrowed it down to these 3. I had a really hard time to choose which pair to take home with me because all of them were pretty! *_* Both my Facebook & Instagram poll suggested me to get the pink/rose colored one but according to Val, the color didn’t suit my skin tone. Gotta listen to the color expert! :p

I love the powder blue & baby pink color combination. It made the pair look less rugged and more dainty~ which is perfect for a girly girl like me! :D
I’m actually glad that I didn’t buy the pair of Todd’s loafers that I wanted back when I was in Europe. I think it’s ridiculous to spend over 20k for a pair of shoes that will eventually get dirty and worn out. This pair is definitely a steal at P4k+ only!
Thank you Sebago Philippines for the lovely afternoon. This pair will surely stand out from my shoe collection because it’s only my 3rd pair of flats from a luxury brand.

Michael Knows Best
I promised my good friend, MIC, that I would credit him when I post this OOTD because he is the one to blame was the one who forced me to get a pair of jeans. So I rummaged through my closet for my most decent pair of jeans (I think those were even jeggings!) for his birthday dinner.
It was a very intimate dinner with his closest friends. A pair of glasses greeted everyone on their plates because the theme was “Mic” and he was known for having these cute sushall (sosyal/ classy) glasses. It was that or everyone had to go bald for the “Mic theme”..

Okay diba? Lovers ang peg! But Mic is actually my frenemy when it comes to fashion. He’s always mocking me especially my style because he feels like I’ve become too comfortable with dresses that I forgot the existence of pants!
But what can I say? He IS the expert in fashion. After all, he’s worked with LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Chanel, other luxury brands) abroad and other big brands in Manila. So fine, I gave pants a shot. It’s not like I enjoy wearing short skirts or dresses, I just find it REALLY HOT to wear pants or slacks here! :|

Majolica Majorca Psychedelicious Collection + LOTD + Natural FOTD
I was psyched to get an invite to Majolica Majorca’s (MJMJ) Psychedelicious Collection launch at SM Makati. I squeezed it into my crazy schedule even if I was booked for shoots that day because that’s how much I love MJMJ! :)
They turned the corridors of SM Makati into a Princess’ amusement park. It was filled with colorful candies and sweets that any kid (or kid at heart like me) would dive into. I must admit, I think I had 3 rounds of cotton candy that day. :))

Brow & Lash Colorist in Maroon Brown - Perfect for my new Auburn hair color. It was a bit too dark for my ombre-going blonde hair so go for Vanilla brown if you have light-colored hair.
Puff De Cheek in Cherry Macaroon - Lovely natural shade. I wish I got the Raspberry one though because I have soooo many peach blushes. It’s a staple color for every makeup artist!
The blush looks very natural on my skin tone. I’m also using MJMJ’s Blood-on lip color in this photo. :)
Though some people may think that having drawn-on brows and peach blush on a daily basis may seem too much, I think that anyone can pull it off on a normal day at work or school. Just be sure to use a light or natural shade of lipstick so you won’t look too made up.

Live Pink with Lip Ice!
The Lip Ice team gathered the bloggers for an intimate relaxing afternoon at The Spa in Bonifacio High Street. The set-up was like my dream home because…

The Lip Ice team did a wonderful job dressing up the place and planning the fun activities that we had during that afternoon. We had a short game and shared some thoughts about the brand.
Before Lip Ice became available in the Philippines, I always had to stock up during my Hong Kong trips so I was overjoyed when I found out that it was readily available in all Watsons Stores. It’s one of the few brands that I adored since childhood up to present time.

Some of us won The Spa GCs for guessing the chick flick movie title. Wasn’t able to take a lot of photos after the Q&A round because I “semi-fainted” from dysmenorrhea. Yes folks, it was the most dreaded time of the month so I wasn’t able to mingle a lot.
Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy the delicious sweets served! These cupcakes were so cute. They were topped with huge pink fondant ribbons. *u* I think that was the last memory I had before my mind went blank from all the pain. XD
We got to take home ALL variants and flavors of Lip Ice. Yey! Here they are~
Mentholatum Lip Ice Lip Balm comes in various flavors. My top picks would be Strawberry and Black Currant. Whenever I have this in my makeup bag, I don’t suffer from chapped or dry lips because it keeps them moisturized throughout the day without having to re-apply it every other minute. The SPF also protects my lips from the harmful rays of the sun. The price is pretty affordable so if you can’t decide which flavor to get, you might as well get all.
I haven’t opened my Lip Ice Color lip balms yet because I still have 2 opened Sheer Color lip balms. Saving these for a special occassion!
Lip Ice Color Gloss seem interesting but I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of glitter and gloss on my lips so I gave them to my sister who is using it on a daily basis in school.

BENCH/: Siwon & Donghae in Manila Presscon
Bench formally welcomed Super Junior boy band members, Choi Si-won (Siwon) & Lee Dong-hae (Donghae) to the Bench family yesterday. I’m sure most of you have already seen their hotta hotta billboards all over EDSA Guadalupe. I was converted into a fan the moment they were put up. 8D
I was lucky enough to land invites to their presson at Trinoma. The invite said 4:30pm but the atrium, including all other floors was already this full by 3pm! I heard that there were even some fans who lined up as early as 7am and the mall doesn’t open until 10am! @_@

A cute lola (grandmother) spotted herself in the big screen and took photos of it. My lola used to be a hardcore fan of F4 and I could imagine her fangirling like this too. :))
A few months ago, I promised my dear friend Kat that I would take her with me if ever any of the Super Junior members would visit Manila. She told me that it’s her dream to see them up close and personal so she screeched when she realized that we had front row seats! :D
But before we got there, we had to go through the scary, rowdy crowd of fans by the entrance!! My dress and necklace got tugged and Kat’s hair got pulled. :< Even after getting in, a fan pulled my bag and said “Ate, ate, please papasukin mo ako!” (Sis, please let me in too!”) WIIIIILD!!!! x__x It was my first time to experience something like that. Good thing Bench and Ayala security had everything in control.
My dress was still in one piece after surviving the fangirl apocalypse! Lol. The presscon started late so when I asked if I could go out to use the CR, the receptionist said, you can go out but when you come back, your dress might become an asymmetrical tattered dress. :))

It was a really hectic week for me when Nicki Minaj was in town but when I got invited by Globe Telecom to cover her presscon, I had to clear out my schedule for the whole day just to see one of my favorite crazy fashionista style icons.

My outfit was inspired by this look. But instead of wearing an aqua wig, I went for an aqua dress and pink accessories. I felt like a walking cotton candy machine! :))

Preview Best Dressed Ball 2012
Last weekend, I was decided on staying home to catch up on some backlogs but my friends dragged me out to the Preview Best Dressed Ball at 7th High. It was a bit last minute to look something nice to wear and the theme, Athletic Couture, didn’t make it any easier for me.
Good thing I found this kendo kimono-inspired gown in my closet! I think I was a bit overdressed though because I bumped into some people who were wearing cheerleader outfits. The event felt more like a costume party than a ball. :( But nevertheless, I had fun!

One of the real reasons why i decided to attend the ball (aside from being dragged out) was because of Mara Coson. She was a close friend of mine back in gradeschool but I never got to see her since she left the country. She’s matured so much!! Our Aaron Carter and Spice Girls days seemed like they just happened yesterday. Time flies indeed!

Tony Moly Spa Escape
Tony Moly (TM) invited bloggers and media friends to a maniped and facial session at The Suriya Spa so that we can try out their latest nail and face products.
TM Party Lover Nail Polish Remover and TM Nail Polishes.
They recommended their latest Galaxy nail polish which were really nice and blingy but I was afraid to use them on my poor tiny nails so I took home this GT03 shade for my mom instead since she’s blessed with perfect long nails.
Typed my Royal Effem Makeup review while having my nails done. Couldn’t let my back logs pile up even more!
After my maniped, I was given the choice to have a facial using one of their latest products: The Oriental Gyeol line or…
..The Timeless EGF Power Creams. Angel of TM recommended the latter so I went with her selection.
The therapist removed my makeup with TM’s Grapefruit cleansing oil gel and Floria all-in-one cleansing oil tissue. The grapefruit gel smells so good!
After cleansing my face, she applied some Intense Care Snail Skin toner. It was intense alright! My face felt a burning sensation but the Live Snail Hydro-gel Mask immediately soothed it. Guess I have to be careful when trying out toners next time.
The Intense Repair Live Snail Hydro-gel Mask was left on for about 20 minutes. At home, I usually leave it on for a longer time because there’s no harm in moisturizing your face. (not unless you have sensitive or oily skin)
After discarding the mask, the various Timeless EGF Power creams were applied on my face. It felt like a collagen treatment but even better because of the additional effects aside from moisturization.
EGF means Epidermal Growth Factor. This variant promotes epidermal cell regeneration, skin resilience, wrinkle improvement, skin hydration, protection and skin whitening. I can’t get over the Power Eye Cream because my tired eyes felt really smooth and relaxed the whole night at the Tatt Awards. (I went there right after this event)
Ended the day with a short chit chat with blogger friends Tracy and Carizza. Tracy noticed that I have no eye bags at all despite having no makeup on. Yes girls, my secret is layering on eye creams before I go to sleep!
I got to take home 3 face masks. I always store them in the chiller so they’re cold when I use them. The perfect weapon to fight the crazy heat wave this summer.
I was hoping to get a sample of the EGF Eye Cream but this will do! The Oriental Gyeol Eye Cream also corrects the lines, wrinkles and dark areas around the eyes.
As a bonus, I also got this super pretty Backstage Wonder Style Box eye and cheek makeup. Watch out for an LOTD post using this makeup!

Say it Sweeter with Toblerone this Mother’s Day
Spent last Thursday afternoon sipping Mojitos and munching Toblerone Chocolates with Val at a beautiful home-turned-into-talk-show-studio in Forbes park.
I loved everything about the place especially the tranquility. Thursday lunch felt more like Sunday brunch.
What’s your favorite Toblerone? Mine’s the white one.
Val and I was expecting to see a giant Toblerone fondue when we entered the house. *wishful thinking*
Flipped the Toblerone box and saw this special edition print right before the program started. Guess who hosted it?
Clue: She’s one of the few hip moms that can rock this pair of Louboutins.
It’s none other than super cool mom, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and RJ Ledesma.
They picked the right combination because both of them really brought the place to life starting with Tessa’s flamboyant ensemble and RJ’s funny punch lines.
Each of them gave their fair share about being a mother and a son and both came to a conclusion that children nowadays are ashamed or find it awkward to say ‘I love you’ to their parents.
Toblerone invited life coach, Pia Acevedo, to explain the reason behind it through stories from yuppies like Jessica Tan-Gan, Georgia Schulze-Del Rosario & RJ Jacinto.
Everyone was touched by Georgia’s thank you speech to her mom. I got a bit teary-eyed because I could relate to her story about spending a lot of time with her mom in the kitchen and inheriting all of her secret recipes because her sister (and mine too) isn’t fond of baking. In my mom’s case, cooking. She can’t bake to save her life. Haha. *u*
Pia explained that each person has a unique way of showing or saying I love you through the 5 love languages.

I’m guessing RJ’s love language is #5, physical touch because he wasn’t awkward with hugging or holding his mom’s hands. He admitted to being a ‘mama’s boy’ too.
They were given a box of Toblerones with a little extra something inside. There were ‘awwws’ and big smiles when they showed us their mother and son/daughter photos inside their boxes.
Had a short chat with Tessa and she told us about how she spoils her kids and showers them with gifts. I’d like to have her as a mom for a day (only). I wouldn’t swap mine for anyone, not even 10 Tessa Prieto-Valdes-es. Yes, I’m a mamas girl. :>
I just wish my mom would learn how to wear high heels so I could steal borrow them!
Got to take home a box full of Toblerones. Sent some to one of my best friends’ mom because she loves chocolates more than my mom. 8D

J. Co. Donuts Grand Opening @ The Strip, Megamall.
Two weeks ago, J. Co Donuts & Coffee officially opened its doors to the public at their first branch in The Strip, Megamall. It was a fun afternoon with friends and *drum roll* unlimited J. Co. donuts and coffee!
Their donut names are very cute and easy to remember. Why? They’re all named after Hollywood stars and timeless characters like Blue Berrymore, Avocado Dicaprio & Mona Pizza.
J. Co offers not just a wide variety of donuts but they also have yogurts, coffee and Frappes.
Our jaws dropped when we tried their Cappuccino Avocado. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE MUST TRY THIS!! For those who aren’t fond of the fruit, don’t worry because it doesn’t taste anything like it! If the manager didn’t tell me it was avocado I would have mistaken it for a milky green tea frappe. I also think it’s a safe drink for those who are afraid of caffeine because I didn’t stay up all night despite drinking this at around 6pm.

Donuts were served to the guests all afternoon. Since I can only eat a maximum of 2 donuts in one sitting, I absolutely adored their mini-donuts. The size is perfect plus, they’re cream filled! I lost track of how many pieces I had that afternoon. *_*
If I were to recommend a donut for breakfast, the J. Club Cheesy Rich is the perfect choice! It kinda reminds me of Ensaymada but cheesier and creamier.

The grand opening was star-studded and packed so I wasn’t able to go around. Good thing Sam YG and Toni Toni from Magic 89.9’s Boys Night Out were just standing right beside me!
Bumped into my family friends, Gwen and Meryll. They were the ones who told me about J. Co. way before they even started building the first branch here. Meryll got impressed by their donuts during her trip to Indonesia so she’s really happy that they’re finally in the Philippines.
Oh before I forget, here’s what I wore:

We got to take home a dozen J. Co. Donuts and they were divine!! I heard that the Al Capone ones are sold out by the middle of the day since they opened.
Obviously, who wouldn’t love donut drizzled with white chocolate and topped with crunchy almonds? I don’t even like almonds but I am nutty about this donut! ;)
