What’s up, brow? | Browhaus Manila

I’ve been hearing so many good things about Browhaus since they opened their 1st branch in Manila back in 2008. So I got really excited when I got invited by the owner to try out and review their Browgraphy service.

Browgraphy is a combination of threading and color tweaking. First, they will shape, thread, cut and tweeze your stray brows and then apply safe eyebrow dye which comes in an eyelash mascara-like tube.

I looove their walls. I wish my mom would let me have these in my room so I’ll never forget to shape my brows. Haha! :)

They have really clean threading stations and the seats are really comfortable. They have very limited space by the way so it’s best to make an appointment before going there. I was there on a Monday and the waiting area was full.

Tip: Most of them were requesting for “Fe”. She was highly recommended to me by the owner too so it must mean that she’s one of the best at Browhaus. ;)

I’ve been pretty busy since summer so I hardly had time to go to the salon. *Explains my hideous brows in the photo above* I always prefer DIY for all of my beauty needs but when it comes to my eyebrows, I always see to it that it’s done by a professional.

Since 2004, I’ve been maintaining my brows with threading and I’ve tried various salons already but I haven’t been hooked to a particular technician since my mom’s stylist went MIA. So yes, I’m an eyebrow threading nomad. :)) Thank God for Browhaus, now I have an eyebrow haven to go to!

FAQs about threading:

Does it hurt? Yes, on your 1st few tries ONLY. I remember getting teary eyed back when I was in high school. I’ve been at it for so many years, I sometimes fall asleep during the process.

Is threading the best way to maintain brows? For me, yes. Some people still can’t tolerate the pain but I think it’s the best way to shape your eyebrows and you won’t get ingrown hair from it unlike plucking. Shaving your brows will also make the regrowth look thick and ugly.

Can I wash my face after threading? No. Threading your hair will leave your pores open so it’s best to let your skin rest first to avoid infections and ingrown hair. Same goes with waxing and plucking your hair anywhere.

How often should I thread my eyebrows? For those who thread regularly, your hair regrowth will be slower so once a month will do. But if you have an important occasion to attend and a forest on your brows can’t get away without being photographed, then you better thread them immediately.

Here’s a photo of one groomed eyebrow (left side). You can still see the unruly hair from the right side. Here’s a close up photo:

Fe, my brow technician at Browhaus Serendra, did a splendid job on my brows. She pointed out that they lack length and look at what she did! My brows look longer and more fierce!

I was very impressed at Browhaus because they don’t just thread out the excess hair, they carefully measure and even trim your brows to make them perfectly even.

Here’s a photo of me after applying the color treatment on my brows. I still had ombre hair back then so she used a darker tone to match the color of my roots. I went out of the house without drawing my brows for about two weeks because they looked tattooed. <3

Don’t forget to check out the reviews of other bloggers on your way out. Browhaus is now the new home of my eyebrows!

Now you know my secret to having beautifully groomed fierce eyebrows. Hope this entry convinced you to throw away those razors and tweezers and experience expert threading at Browhaus! ;)
