Kim Hyun Joong in Manila | The Face Shop

The Gondo Girls were invited by The Face Shop to Kim Hyun Joong’s presscon last week at the Rockwell Club. Everyone was calm, prim and proper while we waited for our dream boy to arrive. But as soon as he entered the door, you could see girls at the edge of their seats; some even squee-ed and revealed the fangirl inside of them. Yes, I’m guilty of that too because I’ve been a fan since Boys Over Flowers was released. Ji-Hoo, the character KHJ plays in BOF, was my favorite.

I never thought I would get the chance to actually see him in real life but thanks to The Face Shop’s invite, I got the opportunity to go zombie mode, spazz and be a fangirl for a few minutes. He’s really handsome and dreamy in real life. I thought he’d be taller though and I prefer his old hairstyle. But whatever, I still *drooled* :>

The press and media asked him several questions bout his skin care routine and favorite makeup products from The Face Shop. He revealed that he is currently using all-TFC products now. I think I remember him mentioning their BB cream. I’ve got to give it a try soon! Maybe I’ll achieve his beautiful skin? *wishful thinking* He has prettier skin than the average Filipina. T__T

This was the closest and best photo that I could get. *AAAHHH* that dreamy smile. I think my camera melted after taking this. This was the part wherein he went down to greet his #1 fan, a grandmother (aged 70+) and her daughter. Their bid of P100,000 won them his full ensemble. Suyen Corp (Bench) will donate all the proceeds to a charity. We were all touched by the mother & daughter’s story. :”>

Photo with my forever-event-partner Valerie (the not-so-quietgirl anymore thanks to my influence) :))

The cutest couple: LoveChic.

With model/ stylist/ photographer/ gondo girl/ Manila’s #1 blogger ~ Tricia.

Weesa & Dominique Tiu of Konichiwear.

Grabbed this photo from Tricia’s blog. We look oh-so-Korean here! <3

In case you missed the makeup & outfit I was wearing that day, check my previous OOTD+EOTD post.

Are you a fan of Kim Hyun Joong too? What would you wear if you won a date with him? (Please don’t answer with ‘nothing’) :))

The New Brand Ambassadors of ASUS

Congratulations to Valerie Chua, Crissey Si, Vince Golanco and DJ Arbie Won for being chosen as the new Brand Ambassadors of Asus Philippines. So proud of my girls!!

Last May 24, Asus launched their Eee Pad & K Series Notebook at Palladium Club, New World Hotel. I arrived a bit late because of the heavy rain + traffic so I missed the first half of the program so I have nothing much to blog about. ;_; Here are a few photos taken by Orvin using my *crappy camera* (yes, I need to get a new one asap.)

Val demonstrating the Eee Pad.

Crissey looks like a leetol kid here. :))

Bumped into an old friend, Professional Photographer Normal Lleses. I used to work with him a lot when I just started out as a hobbyist.

By the way, look closely: I’m wearing BLUE EYELASH MASCARA. *u*

L-R: Orvin, Val, Crissey, Me & Irene (photo: Crissey)

Irene and Val are both my high school classmates. :>

My outfit: Black tube & Harem pants that I mixed together to look like a 1-piece ensemble. The accessories were lying on my table so I just grabbed them in a hurry since I knew I was late. I found the bag in my mom’s closet. She got it during the 80’s but it was still brand new when I *nabbed* it. :))

Had late dinner w/ the girls at Recipe in Greenbelt 5. I look so haggard. Post-office-stress look.

For more info about the new ASUS Eee Pad & K Series Notebooks, visit Valerie Chua & Crissey Si’s blog. :)

Bloggers United: A High Fashion Garage Sale

I’m probably the last of all bloggers to post an entry. Everyone else was so excited to share their experience at the Bloggers United Bazaar because it was such a HUGE success. *kudos to all the organizers & sellers* :>

Held on May 27, 2011, Malayan Plaza Hotel, Ortigas city. Manila’s top fashion bloggers, including the Gondo Girls (http://fb.com/gondogirls) were invited to partake in this special event. It gave us an opportunity to meet colleagues and of course, our beloved readers. <3 As expected, all the sellers were well-dressed and dolled up~ explains my “High Fashion Garage Sale” title. :)) Here are a few photos from my cam & some grabbed from other bloggers.

GG represent: Tricia, Doms, Me & Feanne were present the whole day. Val came in extra-early to set-up our booth. I wasn’t able to help because I err.. sorta overslept. I was too excited the night before that I hardly had any sleep! :| (Photo from http://triciawillgoplaces.tumblr.com)

Majority of the stuff on our table were clothes. I brought along my Catwalk Cosmetics palettes (http://fb.com/cwcosmetics) and a few hair extensions. Thanks to Raleene Cabrera for this photo. Someone needs to teach me how to turn the names into links. I’m a super noob/ dummy at internet stuff. ;_;

Ria Noche ~ First walk-in buyer of my palettes. I gave free eyeshadow makeup demos to random people that day. hee. :>

Finally met Deniece Liza ~ one of the winners of my Suesh & Lay Bare contests. She regularly comments/ tweets on my posts even when I was just a noobie in the internet so I super love her. So glad I was able to talk to her even for a short while.

Doms & Feanne goofing around w/ their Macbooks. Doms was so OC, she had to list down every item sold. Organized entrepreneur at heart!

On the second floor landing.. The Plump Pinays’ booth was the first one I spotted. (Photo above: Danah)

They were selling Plump Pinay merchandise like necklaces and shirts. So cute!! (Photo: Stacey)

Spotted: Earthling Rullan. I met her at a L’Oreal event last year. Nice to see you again, Earth! :)

The sweet girls from Sophie’s Mom gave all bloggers a taste of their ice cream mochi balls. I got cookie dough and it was yum-meh! The outer covering (glutinous rice) is usually tasteless but theirs were sweet~ which is a good thing for me because I love sweets! Will definitely contact them for future events.

My last stop on the second floor was the Close Up booth by the swimming pool. They had a photo booth and gave out a years supply of toothpaste and other Unilever products to the bloggers. *Rejoices* since I’m currently using this toothpaste. I’ll probably have pearly white teeth by the end of the year.

Uyyyy issue. Guess who? :>

With Ashley Ramos. One of the models I worked with at the Fashion Fever event. Which reminds me, I still haven’t posted an entry on that one! x_x

Spotted a group of ICAns. I didn’t even had to ask them which school they came from; I just knew. I’m an ICAn by heart. <3

Pleasant surprise: Bumped into our good friend, Brian Tenorio, Fashyown Extraordinaire. :3

Michelle Lin of Niche.ph also dropped by the GG booth. She also purchased Catwalk Palettes. I look weird in this photo. *awkward smile* We were flashing big smiles 90% of the time because foot traffic was really good and cameras were everywhere. o_o

Thanks for the Catwalk photo Mitzie! :>

I remember someone took a photo of our shoes during closing time. Found his site! (Photo by Jonverdavid)

We wrapped up at around 8:30pm. I couldn’t let the day end without having a photo with these lovely fashionistas! (L-R Camille Co, Kryz Uy, Laureen Uy, Me) Pardon the oily/eww face. Was in a rush to fix everything because our restaurant reservation was about to expire and most of us weren’t able to grab lunch. :s

Last, a photo with the sweet Patricia Prieto. Ohmygosh, we look like high school teeny boppers here!! :))

Photobooth photos grabbed from Doms. http://konichiwear.com

We were goofing around w/ the hair extensions. Hee.

Yeeeeee sweet naman us. 8-)

Again, we’d like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible. To all readers/walk-ins/attendees: Thank you for contributing to charity by simply attending. We were so overwhelmed by the foot traffic because there was never a dull moment throughout the whole day. Wish we could have taken photos with everyone. :3

To the organizers: Congratulations for a successful event. We’re all looking forward to ROUND 2 of Bloggers United. (Shai, Crissey, Val pliz to be present. You were missed!) THANK YOU 1000000x :3

*P.S. I finally made a LOOKBOOK account! http://lookbook.nu/marjsia ~Will post my Bloggers United look soon!

New Generation CLEAR Technology @ Midas Hotel

May 12, 2011. Midas Hotel. The Gondo Girls were invited to attend the New Generation Clear Technology launch. It was a first for me go to a lunch function in clubbing attire. Val and I felt awkward when we got out of the car but when we reached the venue, we had forgotten that it was 12 in the afternoon.

We were both dressed in black ~just for CLEAR! (and well, 70% of my closet it black) Our outfits weren’t planned but we both arrived in lacey ensembles.
We were greeted by the CLEAR usherettes who took us directly to the Total 3 Diagnosis scalp and hair test. The tool used to examine our scalp looked similar to the ones used for 3d ‘ultrasounds’.
I scored a 70% only. Boo. I think it’s because I have problems with hair fall and breakage due to hot iron curling week after week. The shampoo recommended for me was CLEAR Anti-Hair Fall, which I am currently testing out!

When we reached the venue proper, where the main event was held, the first thing that came to my mind was Clear’s Black Light Challenge commercial from way back. The ambience was wonderful and everyone was all dressed up. It felt like as if we were clubbing in a different country.

Feanne bumped into an old schoolmate who is currently an intern for Clear.
The decorations were simple but very impressive. I’m curious at how they turned this rose black from inside and out.
Everything was BLACK~ including their great food selection. The squid ink pasta and paella were to die for!! I think we lost our poise after the 3rd plate. Haha!

The only colorful plate that stood out from the buffet were their macaroons. We were going to save it for last but they ran out pretty quick. Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy a lot of other desserts and non-alcoholic cocktails. Unilever’s Events Manager, Nikki, shared to us that they didn’t want to serve alcoholic drinks in the middle of the day to avoid drunk driving. Two thumbs up! :)
Feanne, Val and I with my MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick. I love how it stood out in all photos. This is also the first event that I attended with my STRAIGHT hair down so I can feel the ‘CLEAR vibe’.

The hosts for the event: Borgy Manotoc & Bianca Valerio.
They revealed to us the current endorsers of CLEAR: Bea Alonzo and Piolo Pascual.

We were lucky enough to get up close and personal with these celebrities after their short speech on-stage.
Bea’s hair was STUNNING! She revealed to us her current shampoo: CLEAR Complete Soft Care. I’ll give this a try after I finish my bottle of CLEAR Anti-Hair Fall.
Piolo or Papa P *hee* uses CLEAR Cool Menthol Sport.

Also spotted at the event: Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdes

I forgot to mention that my sister (beside me) tagged along during this event. It was her first time to attend a launch so I hope she had fun.

Photo Op w/ Bea Alonzo. I look fat beside her but I am still posting this photo because I like her! Plus I love everything that she’s wearing including her makeup. *u*
Lucky man, Papa Piolo, standing in between two lovely Gondo Girls.
And last, the GGs w/ Franco from Bridges PR. Thank you for inviting us to this wonderful event. I wish all the girls would have been able to attend though. I’m sure there are more events to come!

My ‘Clubbing in Paris’ attire:
Dress - Pill; Clutch - Lulu Castagnette; Black Platform pumps - F21

*Clear is available in all leading Supermarkets, Department Stores and Drugstores nationwide.

Have you tried the new CLEAR? I think their new look is super sexy! What do you think? :)

A Princess’ Dream Come True: Etude House Opening Party

This, this is what I call my Korean Wonderland. I feel like a little girl going crazy inside a candy store!
I was so happy when the Gondo Girls and I got an invite to the private opening party of the bigger and better Etude House. We got to check out the place, enjoy the food and pastries and shop before the big crowds came in.

Yummy marshmallows coated in pink white chocolate.

I wasn’t able to try their cupcakes because I was busy taking photos and testing all the products in sight.

Too cute to open ~ Etude House chocolate bars!
I invited one of my good friends, Bianca. I’m so glad I was able to convince her to switch to Etude House makeup & skin care during the event.
Also present were the beautiful *twin towers* Gondo Girls, Val & Feanne.

We spent the whole morning testing their products. We baptized all the testers. Hurrah! XD The first thing I grabbed when I arrived was their Miss Tangerine Follow Me lipstick. We were lucky enough to have all MT products available and on display!

My fave EH product: Precious Mineral BB Cream. Now with a new long-lasting, non-grease formula! Gotta get one as soon as I run out.

Party in a box ~ Perfect makeup set for party princesses!

My first time to see this product. I wonder what it does to your skin? *so curious*

My current daily sun protection and UV base.
You have to give this product a try. It works instantly!

I went wild when I saw their bubble hair dye!! I bought a few boxes from EH Thailand only to find out that they already have stocks in Manila for a low price of P378 only. (!!!) The shelf was wiped out at the end of the day so girls, as soon as you see this in the store, hoard, hoard, hoard!! :))

My girls and I posing with their Mini-me Body Perfume mist. Thanks Val (http://quietgirl.net) for taking such lovely photos.

^This girl did my nails. I think she was in awe at how tiny my nails were. *awkward*

We had the chance to take a sneak peek at some unreleased items.

Their deodorant line is so cute. HANDS DOWN (or up) to the name and design! Can’t wait for it to be out in the market!! :)

Yey for another photo op with Ms. Andrea Amado, the President of Etude House Philippines.

I think I was the most excited person in the room when the Missing-U mascots arrived. *kiddie moment* I’m so happy I was able to take a photo with each animal. <3
Lookie, Bianca is acting like a penguin too. :))

Last group photo w/ Ms. Andrea. We kept delaying our exit because the place was too cute to leave.

Whee I feel like a kid again. :)) If you’re wondering what my Etude House Haul was for that day, ^points 3 big bags^ come back to my page for my follow-up entry. You can also hype this look at my Lookbook.

So, were you able to attend the Opening Party too? Share your princess experience too! :)

The new Etude House shop is located at Megamall Building B, Upper Ground Floor near Jollibee and SM Supermarket.
