Be Famous at Folded & Hung Famous Salon

I was a few of the lucky ones to try out F&H Famous Salon for the very first time at their flagship salon in Robinsons Place Manila. People went wild when I tweeted about “Folded & Hung Salon”. They thought that I made a typo or something because they couldn’t believe that F&H had opened their own salon! :))

I guess they call the place “Famous Salon” for a reason: You will feel like a famous celebrity as soon as you enter the place because that’s how they treat all their clients.

F&H Salon has their very own cafe inside. I think I swooned over their food, drinks and dessert 50% of my time there. :>

So while having your hair colored or treated, you can try out their special dishes. These are specially made for F&H salon only, fyi. So you can’t get good service + good food in any other salon. ;)

Their Lasagna and Red Velvet cookies are to die for!!!! I nabbed a pack for myself *shh don’t tell the owners* and I would have gladly made a jejemon-move and nabbed a lasagna too if it were not for my friends there… *no judging* :)))))

Anyway. enough about the food and on to the services I availed! :D It was my first time to have my roots dyed. Felt kinda awkward having inches of my hair dyed only. I’m used to DIY and having all of my hair dyed all the time but this is a good habit that I need to continue because my hair didn’t feel heavy at all after getting it dyed.

They were able to get the exact color even if I had my hair dyed at a different salon. (Check out Paul the Troll Guy in the background) The stylists there were very, very OC and careful with our hair even if we told them that we were in a hurry. They didn’t want to compromise the outcome of our hair treatment so they forced us to stay! *prisoners* But we were easily bribed by the food that kept us happy plus the very entertaining partners of F&H Salon, Alan Vianzon and Jing Monis, were personally there to tell us more about their future plans with the salon.

I can’t wait to disclose where their next branch will be. For now, mum’s the word!! ;)

Their red velvet cookies inspired me to go back to being a red head so I asked them to cellophane my hair red. It’s always good to cello your hair after dyeing it because it will make your hair softer!

EJay, my F&H hair stylist, used Schwarzkopft #6-888 on me.

Here’s Val having her hair dried.

Paul with his new haircut and hair color.

And here is a happy little me for getting the exact hair color that I want. I love EJay (F&H Salon Stylist) because I didn’t even show him any swatches. All I said was I want my hair to be read but not screaming red! (kinda vague, I know. :p) I’m glad he understood me well. Teehee.

I love love my new haircut and hair color! My dry tips are almost out and the red cellophane covered most of my unwanted bleached tips! :D It also looks natural brown without any harsh light or flash photography. :>

Pink Kimono FLIGHTS OF FANCY | Inner top & Skirt FOREVER 21

Oh and before I end this post, thanks to S&H Fashion for this super cutie patootie pair!! I think it was perfect timing to use this during my F&H visit. haha! :>

Can’t wait to drop by again soon to have my roots re-dyed!

Like F&H Famous Salon to stay updated!!

Kérastase Chroma Captive Shine: 40 Days After | The Goose Station

After months of ranting about my hair, I was lucky enough to receive another solution to my dry, frizzy, kalawang (rusty) bleached tips. This time it’s from the holy grail and caviar of hair care brands~ Kérastase.

They launched the Chroma Captive Shine variant about 2 months ago. I usually post about the event after a week or so but since I usually end it with a review, I had to try out the product for myself to come up with a verdict.

THE PROMISE: Ultimate color protection up to 40 days!

The event’s food was c/o The Goose Station. I’ve been hearing so many raves and instagram brags about their exquisite food so I really squeezed this event into my tight schedule that week.

Laura Charlton, daughter of David of David’s Salon, introducing the brand once more and sharing a few facts about Kerastase Chroma Captive’s system capture technology.

The cutie Chef Rob Pengson of The Goose Station giving a few words before his masterpiece dishes were served.

1st snack: Duck Foie Gras with jam and macadamia nut. Not sure about the latter but as far as I can remember, I wasn’t a big fan of this. It looked great and my friends loved it but I really don’t know how to appreciate foie gras.

2nd Snack: Mojitos on the spoon & minced tuna rolls. I loooved the tuna! I think it was marinated to have more flavor. Too bad I didn’t give the Mojito a try. I had a shoot the next day and my #1 rule is not a single drop of alcohol the day before to avoid having ugly or dry skin. I heard this was really good though! Maybe I’ll order it the next time I drop by.

3rd Snack: Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think these are Fried Fish Skin Chips. I really loved this. It reminded me of my childhood yaya’s (nanny) specialty: fried Bangus skin.

Eggs Benedict ~ This dish was absolutely divine!!!! I love cooking with eggs but this is one thing that I can never achieve. Especially their heavenly hollandaise sauce.

24 Hour-Cooked Steak ~ It may seem dry in the photo but the steak was really juicy on the inside. The mash potato below it was also two thumbs up! I’m not one who likes to splurge on food but I will definitely come back to The Goose Station for another round of these.

Group photo before leaving. Almost everyone was wearing the color motif! Love it!!

I was able to grab a really nice dress from HIP CULTURE on the very last minute. My friends loved it!

Bag BRAUN & BUFFEL | Shoes SO! FAB

But the head turned wasn’t my dress during that night. This lovely necklace from FROU FROU FASHION / Lanvin by H&M was a good conversational piece during our dinner.

As you can see, the tips on my hair seemed really dry. So the next day, I had a hair makeover and started to use Kerastase Chroma Captive Shine shampoo daily & the mask on special occasions.

Bain Chroma Captive (shampoo) P1,483, Fondant Chroma Captive (conditioner) P1,693 and Masque Chroma Captive (masque) P2,708. Kerastase is a PREMIUM brand of L’Oreal and it is worth every drop. That’s why I always use a coin-sized amount only during every shower. :))

Left: Newly dyed auburn hair. Right: 45 days after hair dye and using Kerastase Chroma Captive Shampoo at least once a day & the mask at least twice a week. Made my hair look shiny and soft all the time. (I also lost 5 pounds! Lol.)

The Verdict: Color faded by about 25% only considering that majority of my hair is bleached. The bleached part tends to show more than my “virgin hair” or roots. The Auburn dye used on me contains a lot of red pigments and for any hair dye or brand, red is not a long-lasting color. My hair looks darker IRL. The photo on the right was taken with flash. Hee.

I guess I need to chop off the ends since they’re lighter than the top part. The only two things I don’t like about this product is that it doesn’t bubble as much as my regular shampoo and well, of course, the price. But as I mentioned, the quality speaks for the price. All in all, I really love this variant. I haven’t tried any Kerastase product that left me disappointed. I’m definitely going to buy another bottle when I get my hair dyed again next month.

***In fact, I’ll be inviting some lucky readers to go to the salon with me for my big birthday blowout with my blogger friends. So keep coming back to my blog for updates! Stay pretty, everyone!! :*

Black Beauty Brand Ambassador Shoot x Maybelline Makeup Tutorial

Last month, I made a bold decision to get rid of my ombre hair. I got so traumatized with the “kalawang” (rusty) aftermath of the bleached parts that I swore never to dye it and just chop it off when it gets longer. But thanks to Black Beauty hair care, they convinced me to dye it and help me maintain the softness and protect it from being damaged further. The photo below is one of my last smiles with my rebel ombre hair.

I’m really thankful they chose me to become their brand ambassador. It’s such an honor especially since my parents recently switched to the brand. (without telling me! hmph) :)) They’re really picky with shampoo because they’re afraid of hair fall and dandruff. I’ll introduce their wide range of shampoos in my next Black Beauty entry.

Pink Chiffon Kimono FLIGHTS OF FANCY | Necklace FROU FROU

Since the owner is an avid reader of my blog and loves my makeup tutorials, we decided to make 5 makeup video tutorials using one of my favorite makeup brands.. Maybelline!! But that’s not the best part, one lucky winner will be chosen for every video tutorial and she will WIN ALL THE MAKEUP USED IN THE VIDEO + Black beauty goodies!! See the blue bags on my table? They can be yours!! (Instructions at the end of this entry)

I’ve never posted a homemade video tutorial because I’m always so awkward on screen. I feel more comfortable posting step-by-step photo tutorials but I hope you enjoy the videos! :)

There was so much makeup everywhere during our filming day.. One of their staff managed to spot their hair cuticle coat in my travel kit. I SWEAR, I have one in all my makeup kits and sometimes in my purse too, when I have to fix my hair in the car.

There are 3 variants that I find hard to choose from on a daily basis because they all smell so good! :)) Will post a longer review of this soon.

My makeup tutorials will also have special guest bloggers like Vern Enciso (above) and the rest is a surprise. Maybe you’re seen their BTS blog entries around! ;)

Here’s a photo of myself looking serious because I’m about to have my hair dyed. Sir Jun of Indigo Salon in Temple Drive (near Corinthian Hills) used Black Beauty AUBURN hair dye on me. (In photo: lower left, purple box) I need to get my hands on one of these soon so I can dye my roots!

After dyeing my hair, they used Black Beauty Hot Oil to make my hair soft and smooth. I was afraid that I’d end up mortified with the results again like my last dye job but look at the results….

I absolutely love it!!! ♥_♥

My only concern is that it makes me look a bit erm, bitchy (unfriendly) haha! What do you think? XD

Thank you so much Black Beauty Philippines for the fun-filled shoot! I really enjoyed trying out all the products there and having them in my shower now. :))

About the Black Beauty x Maybelline contest, my first video is about Natural, everyday makeup. You can see the video HERE. (Pardon my awkwardness) :))

To join their contest, like Black Beauty Philippines Facebook Page for the mechanics. It’s actually very easy to join and win so send in your entries NOW!! :)

Hair Despair: Vitress Hair Solutions

At the end of every day, this is how bad my hair looks like. See the tips? They look really stiff, dry and damaged because of my bad bleach job. So for those who want to get their hair dyed, make sure you only go to your TRUSTED salon or stylist.

I’ve been ranting about this problem non-stop because my hair is supposed to be my crowning glory. And crowns aren’t supposed to be rusty!

So when I got this cool package from Vitress, I felt like it was heaven sent because these products addressed all my hair problems. It was my first time to try the brand and I really commend them for the classy packaging of the cuticle coat. It looks like an expensive imported brand. Way to go, Splash! :)

VITRESS CUTICLE COAT is a serum made with a blend of special silicones. I never forget to apply this after showering or else my hair will feel “rubbery”. :|

3 variants: Instant Relax will detangle and tame frizzy hair. Hair Repair will restore the natural oils to dry and damaged hair. Heat Protect can be applied prior to blow drying, ironing or curling your hair to prevent it from getting burnt or damaged.

VITRESS HAIR POLISH is a hair styling cream that protects your hair and at the same time keeps it looking nice and shiny all day without the greasy feeling.

3 variants: Sun protect keeps your hair safe from harmful UV. Yes, even your hair needs SPF! Strengthening prevents hair breakage and split ends. Long-lasting fragrance is like a scented leave on or hair perfume. The latter is my favorite among these 3.

You know what the best part is about these products? They’re as low as P31 only for a 30ml bottle!!

So yes, I’ve been abusing it everyday. >__> See how straight and shiny my hair looks like now! I need to admit though, I think using a serum and a cream everyday is too much so I alternate them. My siblings already nabbed some of my extra bottles so I’m sure they’re enjoying Vitress as much as I am.

Like VITRESS on Facebook to find out more about their products and check out Solenn Heussaff’s Vitress commercial. She’s sooo sexy! I love her to bits. <3

Perfection by Cream Silk: Become a Perfect 10!

Cream Silk set up an intimate event for bloggers a week after our Holy Week vacation. It was perfect timing because I needed a break from all the shopping at Hong Kong and I was going to Tagaytay that day.

It was really funny because I thought that we would only use The Spa as our venue but they treated us to a full body massage so we had to be nakey around each other for the first time. *awkward* :))

After my Swedish Massage, I had to get rid of the oil on my hair and body or else I’ll be sticky for our road trip so I took a quick shower. Cream Silk and Sunsilk products were prepared for us to use. It was my first time to use the Perfection conditioner and I really love the scent. I felt like I was taking an aromatherapy bath!

After using the conditioner, I used the Cream Silk Perfection Intensive Treatment Mask. It’s much thicker compared to other masks- which is good. I don’t like masks that are “liquid-y” or seem melted because it feels and looks like ordinary conditioner.

Look at how my hair turned out after minimal hair styling. My fingers could glide through my bleached hair again and it doesn’t look damaged or frizzy at all! <3

With bloggers (L-R) Vern, Alyssa, Shen, Nikki, Me.

All of us look like we just had our hair rebonded!

Our hair was scored a Perfect 10 after using Cream Silk Perfection products! And as a reward we got to take home these babies..

The whole range of Cream Silk Perfection!! <3

(L-R)

  • Intensive Treatment Mask - I use it once a week or after curling my hair.
  • Daily Treatment Conditioner - I use it with my daily shampoo.
  • Instant Frizz Control Leave On - I use it everyday when I just fan-dry my hair so it will look less frizzy. My hair always behaves as soon as it comes in contact with this!
  • Detangling Spray - Use before ironing or styling your hair to protect it from the heat. Shen also said this can be used as “hair sunblock” when you go swimming.

These products are very affordable so I will definitely re-purchase once I run out. I highly recommend it to those who have colored dry, frizzy or damaged hair because it has improved mine in just 2 weeks. No need to go to the salon to get long, beautiful, soft and silky hair.

Become a Perfect 10 too with Cream Silk Perfection! :)

I AM MEG event | Summer Outfit | RED Highlights!

Last week, I attended the I AM MEG event at Skye with Valerie. (MIA in this entry) The invitation said that cocktails would start at 6pm and we arrived on the dot. We forgot about the “Filipino time” and that everyone would be fashionably late given that this is a fashion magazine’s event.

Since we had a lot of time to kill, Val took really nice outfit photos for me. YEY!

DRESS Forever 21; PUMPS From Hong Kong

I know the theme was ‘nude’ but I couldn’t find anything else and this dress was perfect for a chill summer night at Skye.

NECKLACE SM Accessories

BAG Vintage from Mom’s closet; CONNECTOR RING Yhansy; WATCH Phosphor

I am absolutely in love with this watch! The Zirconian crystals flip whenever the time changes. You’ll see more of this ultimate bling watch when I move out of Tumblr this month. You can visit Phosphor Philippines’ Facebook Page if you’re already itching to see more.

I was thankful when I saw Shen and Martha arrive. More company for me and Val! They both look uber sexy in their nude ensembles.

Doms and Weesa were really wise to arrive extra-late (as always) because the program started shortly after they finished having late dinner.

Patricia Prieto — Can I haz your legs? Pleaze??

With the sexy ladies of Koi Swimwear~ Jade and Lace. I went to the same high school with them but we only started talking last year for their bikini catalogue shoot. :)

Kim, my old badminton buddy/ makeup workshop student, and some guys who joined our table.

FINALLY, the event started after 3 rounds of Absolut Mango Tonic. Any more of it and I would have nothing to remember for this blog entry. :))

The hyper Dazzle Ng, Associate Publisher of Meg Magazine, presented Meg’s online portal through this giant interactive screen. It was designed to look like a giant PLDT Telepad so the slides followed her hand movement. No wonder she told me that she had a Steve Jobs presentation!

Visit iamMeg.ph to see what this is all about.

Meg will also have their very own TV Show for the first time~
I AM MEG: Own the World in Style

The concept is similar to America’s Next Top Model and the girls will compete to become the Style Ambassador of Meg Magazine. For more info and registration, visit their website.

I hope my sudden hair change didn’t shock you too much. I got tired of having to remedy my over-bleached hair everyday so I thought of overlapping it with this hot red color.

Want a tutorial for these red highlights? Like this entry or leave a comment and I’ll make time for it! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram too! ;)

New year, new hair color! (PALTY Japanese DIY hair dye)

They say that cutting your hair before the Chinese New Year will bring you good fortune and luck throughout the year because it removes (cuts off) the bad luck from the previous year. I opted not to cut my hair because I’m growing it plus I have no time to go to the salon so I decided to dye my own hair.

I got this last December during our family vacation at Hong Kong. My friend Crissey kept raving about how nice Japanese hair dye is so I went to Sasa to check out what’s available. The salesladies recommended Palty because this shade (Strawberry brown) fits my skin tone. I even got it on sale for only 58 HKD/pack. If only I knew the results would be amazing, I would have gotten more.

*I fail at imitating the pretty girl on the box* hoho 8)

Things to prepare for DIY hair dye:

  1. Hair Dye ~ of course! ~Always remember to have an allergy test first.
  2. Cover to protect shirt from stains (Wear OLD black shirt)
  3. Plastic gloves & shower cap
  4. Tissue, cotton and alcohol in case of stains.

The application was so easy. All I had to do was mix in the two ingredients in the plastic container. Shake it, then voila, the mixture is complete. I like how the hair dye doesn’t smell like chemicals and it’s consistency is thick and creamy plus it starts off in cream/white color and turns a bit purple as time passes by. I don’t like liquid hair dyes that are in full color because they can easily stain our skin and won’t be removed until 2-3 showers.

The instructions were all in Japanese so I had the saleslady in Sasa translate it to Mandarin for me. She told me to leave it on for 20 minutes but since I’ve been dyeing my own hair since I was in high school, (I’ve tried almost all the warm colors over the years) I knew it would require more than that time for the dye to take effect on my hair since I had my hair blackened (permanent black dye) two years ago. The black dye penetrated into the core of my hair so even salon dyes with peroxide won’t stick. I left the Palty dye for about 20 minutes with a shower cap and another 15 minutes without it so I could check the color while waiting.

Palty is the least messiest DIY hair dye I have ever tried. Normally, I would cause a mess in the shower after washing out the dye but it didn’t leave a single mark! *SPAZZ* At first, I was kinda scared while I was drying my hair because I didn’t know how it was going to turn out but the results were BETTER THAN EXPECTED!  ♥ It’s not too red and the brown shade is just right. I won’t post photos in this entry first since I’ll be having a shoot with my girls this weekend. Yeee so excited! :>

This will be my last entry will jet black hair. After 2 years of being a brunette, Veronica Lodge is now back to being Cheryl Blossom. It’s about time I bring color back to my life. ;)

Happy Chinese New Year! May wabbit season be good to us all. :3
