From Dull to Doll Eyes (LOTD)

Ever wonder how I transform my eyes into doll-like eyes? Here are a few tips and tricks using my current favorite makeup.

I started with Natural makeup so we can skip the basic steps like prime, powder, etc.~ lazy! :))

For this look, I used 3 coats of Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes. Even before I got into beauty blogging, I have always been a fan of Lancome makeup. It’s one of the few brands that I’m willing to splurge on. Sure, the price is not that affordable for students but trust me, all their products are worth your every penny.

I love the shape of the mascara wand because the tip makes it easy to apply mascara on the small strands of eyelashes like on the corner of our eyes or on our lower lash line. The mascara also has a light rose scent which I find very soothing. I sometimes find myself sniffing the product before applying it on my lashes. Don’t judge! haha :)

Since my lashes are a bit exaggerated, I used Lancome’s Ombre Absolue Palette in A110 Rose Romance because it has natural pink and brown shades. I guess ombre isn’t in for hair color only but also for eye makeup!

Here’s the finished look after 3 coats of mascara (without any clumping problem) and eye makeup. I added shimmer and lower lash falsies from Catwalk Cosmetics to make my eyes look bigger and more doll-like. These falsies have become my BFF’s because I always have a hard time applying mascara on my lower lashes because they’re too thin.
Contact lens: Colorblends GRAY Freshlook Contact Lens

For the lips, I used MAC Cosmetics limited edition Nicki Minaj lipstick.

The shade makes me think of a pink flamingo! :D

Wore my blonde wig and pouty duck face (lol) Ribbon ring & other Korean accessories will be available at the Superb Supersale Bazaar on May 23-27. Hope you can drop by!

Hope you enjoyed this LOTD. Stay pretty! :D

Catwalk Cosmetics Summer Workshop + June 2012 schedule! :D
Here’s a quick recap of our Makeup Workshop last April 21 and 28 with special guest fashion bloggers, Vern & Verniece Enciso! :)

All students got to take home a Catwalk gift bag with loads of goodies.

So glad I found these kitty stationaries. I hope I can still find more of these for future classes. XD

The highlight of the goody bag were these handmade makeup peanut butter cupcakes from SugaRush Cakes!

Will post more photos and a review about their yummy treats soon!

We started with a skin care talk using 2 of my favorite brands:

Garnier Pure Active for skin care and..

Nivea Sun for Sun Protection and Angel Star body lotion to keep your skin moisturized this summer.

After the skin care talk, Dr. Janna of Freshlook Contact Lenses taught the students the proper way of taking care of their contact lenses and how to wear them.

It was the first time for most students to wear contact lenses.

It only took minutes for Vern & Verniece to place in theirs.

Ta-dah! Hazel eyes! So gondoh! <3

Now here’s the fun part~ makeup application!!

Thanks to Tonic Bags & Shoes for the leopard print makeup kits. It’s so tiny but all of our makeup could fit in it!! :D

Here’s their work station filled with Etude House products. The students got to keep the cute pink brush set too! :D

Verniece putting her game face on. What a cutie pie!

Vern was such a sweet big sister by helping Verniece out with her makeup.
The result:
Verniece was in awe with the ‘doll eye technique’ I taught her. Makes her look even more doll-like than how she already is without any makeup. XD

Vern’s favorite part was learning how to draw and shape her eyebrows!

So happy that most of my students became good friends after my class. ;D

April 21 class

April 28 class

Here’s what they got in the goody bag. Others went home with a Catwalk Cosmetics Runway palette too! Thanks for the photo Vien! :D

Royal Effem Makeup: Into the Deep Blue Sea (LOTD)

How’s your summer so far? It’s been crazy hot here in the Philippines lately so I thought of doing a makeup look that can make our hot summer days a bit cooler. It’s also dedicated to everyone headed to the beach this long weekend. (humph. *bitter*) :))

Let me introduce to you a recent discovery of mine~ Royal Effem: an Italian Makeup brand created by Laboratori Royal. I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of it yet but it is already available at some high-end salons in Manila. You can check out their Facebook Page for more products.
The makeup used for my Into the Deep Blue Sea look are the following:

EYES: Royal Effem Eyeshadow #221 | Royal Effem Velvet Kohl Eyeshadow #007

(L-R) Eyeshadow swatch (without eye primer) Velvet Kohl Eyeshadow swatch

Both products are eyeshadows and are very easy to apply; non-smudge and silky finish but the Velvet Kohl one is darker and more intense compared to the ordinary eyeshadow.

I super love the Velvet Kohl liner because you can use it as an eyeliner too. The #007 shade is very unique and won’t be too awkward to use as an eyeliner since it’s not too far from the typical black eyeliner shade.

LIPS: Royal Effem Totally Gloss in LU21

The owner of Royal Effem was kind enough to recommend this shade to me since I told her about my plum lipstick obsession. Since I had tons of dark lippies already, she chose LU21, a combination of lavender and pink.

The color is wearable during day or night and is easy to pair with different eyeshadow shades. I love the texture of Royal Effem lipsticks because they’re not too sheer nor thick or sticky. They’re very milky and has a light vanilla scent.

Normally, smokey blue eyes would make me look fierce but combined with my Freshlook Colorblends Turquoise contact lenses and lavander lipstick, I can pull off a damsel in distress face. *hee*

Always remember to balance your makeup if you’re not used to wearing dark makeup. If you have smokey eyes, wear light or nude colored lipstick. But if you’re confident enough to go out with hot red lips and dark smokey eyes, go for it! No one’s stopping you. ;)
I hope you enjoyed my short makeup review and LOTD. Enjoy the long weekend! :-)

You can choose between two dates: April 21 or 28. Both are Saturdays and classes run from 1pm to 5pm at a private studio in Pasig City. We want to avoid people showing up unexpectedly so we will only email the complete address after confirmation. :)
*For inquiries or reservations: 0917-8929289
There are 2 options/ packages for the class:
- Package A: Inclusive of Makeup brush Set + Gift bag worth over P2k. (Price: P3,500)
- Package B: Makeup Brush Set + Gift Bag worth over P2k + Catwalk Cosmetics 18 Color Runway Palette worth P1,100 (Price: P4,250, save P750 on the palette)

Beginners are VERY MUCH WELCOME. In fact, you don’t need to own any makeup because all materials will be provided by Etude House Philippines. You will get to use the latest and hottest products from my favorite Korean Makeup brand! :D

Prior to makeup application, I’ll discuss the proper skin care routine using Garnier Pure Active products. It’s perfect for our hot weather right now because acne usually appear when we sweat a lot.

Of course, we also need the proper sun care to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun using Nivea Sun products.

Aside from the skin care routine, we’ll be having Freshlook Contact lens’ Dra. Romualdez to teach us the proper way to wear and take care of contact lenses.
You’ll see that you don’t have to put your eyes at risk by using cheap giant circle lenses to achieve the “Korean look”. :>

ALL STUDENTS will get to take home goodies from all the brands mentioned above plus Dove Hair products,

Tonic Bags and Shoes Gift Certificates and..

Extreme Finds Accessories Gift Certificates.

And last but not the least, everyone gets to take home makeup cupcakes from SugaRush Cakes & Pastries! I still can’t get over the Angry Birds makeup kit cake I got for my birthday last year. haha :)
Now, let me introduce to you 2 pretty ladies that will be participating in our workshop..

Meet Vern and Verniece Enciso! :) They’re one of the top fashion bloggers in Manila today and I sort of have a *girl crush* on them. Heehee! I hope they don’t get creeped out after reading this! :)) But c’mon, they look like porcelain dolls!! :D

They will be joining us on APRIL 21 (Sat) so if you’re an avid reader of their blog, here’s your chance to spend a day with them and learn the basics of skin care, contact lens care and makeup application.
I guarantee you, it will be a fun-filled afternoon with Q&A’s, picture taking and meeting new friends. Slots are limited to send your FULL NAME & E-MAIL ADDRESS to 0917-8929289 to reserve a slot. Only 50% deposit is required. There will be a maximum of 10 students per class only so register now! :)
****You can grab the discount code from Vern & Verniece’s blogs or simply include “MARJ_CATWALK” when enrolling via text to get 10% off the fee for April 21. It’s the first time we’re offering a discount for the fee so grab the opportunity now! :)
Magical Majolica Majorca Valentine’s Day Look | Dashe Brushes | Makeup Workshop

Valentine’s Day only comes once a year so you might as well go all out on dressing up and makeup. But keep in mind that most men don’t like girls with thick makeup so don’t apply too much or you might scare him away on this very special day! XD
I came up with a simple yet elegant makeup look using Majolica Majorca (MJMJ) makeup and Dashe Cosmetics tools.

Lip & Cheek: Skin Remaker Pore Cover Pressed Powder (B010), Puff De Cheek Blush (PK303), Rogue Majex Lip Gloss (BE205)

Eyes: Perfect Automatic Liner (GR604), Jeweling Eyes (RD784), Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo (BK999)

I finally get to use my Dashe 12-pc professional set that they sent me last year! I waited until I had to retire my old brush set before I opened it. But hey, a girl can’t have too many makeup brushes. ;)

For this tutorial, we’ll need these brushes only: (Top to bottom) Blending brush, Angled brow/liner brush, Bullet brush, Flat eyeshadow brush, Contour/blush brush, Powder brush.

If you have contact lenses, wear them BEFORE applying any makeup. This way, your hands will still be clean and you won’t smudge your eye makeup. I’m using Freshlook Colorblends HONEY because it makes me appear angelic. It’s a great way to deceive unsuspecting men! (lol, kidding)
Did you know: My eyeliner is permanently tatoo-ed so I look like I have makeup on during the start of a tutorial. So yes, I’m not cheating!! :p

We’ll be focusing on the eyes so let’s fast forward to applying powder! After putting on your favorite liquid foundation and concealing all dark areas, EVENLY apply MJMJ’s Skin Remaker Pore Cover all on your face and neck.

RD784 is my favorite among all MJMJ Jeweling Eyes Eyeshadow quads because it has pink tones in it. I labelled the colors with numbers to avoid confusion.

Apply shade #4 all over your eyelids. NEVER make your eyeshadow meet your brows or you might look like a drag queen!

Apply shade #2 using a flat brush on half of your lids, starting from the ends. This is my favorite color in the quad because it reminds me of my childhood room which had old rose wallpapers.

Draw a “roof” with your bullet brush on top of your lids using shade #3. Follow the shape of your eyeball and stay within the area. You can find your “eyeball shape” by touching your lids while your eyes are closed. Try it now! *see what I mean?* :>

Using a CLEAN fluffy blending brush, sweep off/ blend shade #3 with the other 2 colors until you’re happy with the shade. The direction of your brush should be going inwards, in small circular motions. If you want a more dramatic look, just give it a sweep or two.

With a bullet brush, add shade #1 on the inner part of your lids and waterline. If you’re not a fan of shimmer or glitter, you can skip this step.

Create a thin winged liner using MJMJ Perfect Automatic liner. Been using this product since December and I’m in love with it. Don’t overdo the wing if you’re going out on a first date. Not all men can understand art and makeup. :}

Add shade #3 to your lower lash line using a flat angled liner brush. See how my eyes drastically changed as soon as I applied upper and lower liners?

Last step for the eyes~ Mascara! MJMJ Lash Gorgeous Wing is very noob-friendly so you don’t have to be a professional to know how to apply this. Always brush your lashes upwards. Apply 2-3 coats.

Cheeks: Always smile when applying blush. MJMJ Puff De Cheek (PK303) is perfect for Valentine’s Day because it gives you a natural rosy glow. I bet those who are madly in love don’t need to apply blush anymore. :p

Last, apply MJMJ Rogue Majex lip gloss. You can wear it alone or on top of your favorite lipstick. Your boyfriend will fall in love with the flavor! *if you know what i mean* ;)

There, now I’m ready to go out on a date! But first, I’ll need to find a REAL date first! :p

Accessories: YHANSY Manila
Wig: Catwalk Cosmetics
Hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial. If you have any suggestions for the next one, just send them to marj_sia@yahoo.com. :) or better yet, join my 1st makeup workshop this 2012! We’ll have loads of fun together!

Career Talk @ ICA: Accidental Blogger

Last November 18, I got the special opportunity of being one of the speakers for the ICA juniors’ Career Talk. It felt weird and awkward going back to my alma mater wearing all the illegal stuff like makeup, curly and colored hair, short fitted skirt and high heels. (Freedom!!) I had to pull down my skirt when the nuns requested to meet all the speakers. *shame* but it was truly a great experience to share my career’s history to the kids and see how surprised my teachers are to see me bloom from a sporty anti-girly girl to a super fashion and beauty conscious lady. (Photo above: Batch 1)
Believe it or not, I used to wear baggy pants and was dirty all the time from playing Volleyball or Basketball!

Since it was my first time to be a speaker for a career talk, I was quite clueless on where to start. I didn’t even know which career I should focus on because I jumped from being an accessory designer to a makeup artist and blogger. To be honest, the “blogger” title was just an accident. I created a Facebook fan page to showcase my works way before I started blogging. People assumed I was one because of my random ‘Look of the day’ posts so I decided to create TheTravelingHeels. Funny, right?

I got a bit sentimental when I rummaged through my old files and found photos of my handmade jewelries! (Photo above) Back in 2005, I started out as an accessory designer and I had a lot of international clients which included the First Lady of Guam. My favorite piece is the white crystal necklace (middle, black background) I created it for a French musical called “The Necklace”. Imagine, at the age of 17 I was already a workaholic!

I shared to the students my current online business, Catwalk Cosmetics & wigs.
Good thing I had a few pieces with me because I had to convince them that wigs can be worn anytime at any occasion and are NOT just for costume parties. They were surprised to see how natural they look after I demonstrated it on a few of their classmates.

I also taught them the proper daily skin care routine which is to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize everyday and shared my favorite product with everyone!

Thank you to Nivea Philippines for giving everyone Sparkling White facial foams! The students loved it and the size is perfect for their classroom kikay kits. (Photo above: Batch 2)
I hope I can get the chance to give another talk at ICA or other schools. I think I’ll never get old if I keep myself surrounded with kids. Haha! I’m looking forward to this weekend because I’ll be spending my last makeup workshop for the year with a few of the ICAns that I recently met. They’re so full of energy so I better make sure I charge up tomorrow.
P.S. it’s the feast of the Immaculate Conception today!! :D

Tribute Shoes GCs + Last Makeup Workshop + A big THANK YOU!
I’ve been MIA for the longest time here on Tumblr. The ber-months have been quite crazy and I’m losing all my hair from juggling my projects, makeup job, online & family business that I pretty much forgot to update my blog. So here goes backlog #1! :)
I stumbled upon an online shop that sells really cute and classy flats. I told myself that it’s about time I got a decent pair for myself when I saw these Berlin flats from TRIBUTE SHOES.

First impression: They remind me of Chanel quilted bags! *loove* I’m hoping I can get a Chanel bag for myself this Christmas. I have to sell a bunch of my precious belongings first; my dog included. Kidding! :) So here’s my first ever post wearing flats..

Ta-dah! I wore this during our Makeup Workshop last November 26. So happy I have another comfy pair of flats aside from my Ipanema flip-flops. My mom is quite impressed with this pair because she’s never seen me wear ballet flats because they’re not that flattering on me. This one on the other hand, doesn’t make me look like a Beagle or Welsh Corgi because it’s pointed! (OOTD: Cotton-On chiffon top over striped H&M dress)

They’re very comfy and cushiony so despite standing up for over 5 hours, my feet didn’t hurt at all! :) I chose the silver one among all the pretty colors because almost all my accessories are silver. (In this photo: Forever 21 rings & Charriol bangle and watch)
**** GET P200 OFF CODE: “TributeMarj” ****
If you plan to order a pair from Tribute Shoes, use the code above and like their Facebook page, share their link on your FB or simply reblog this entry to instantly get P200 off your order/s! :) *For regular-priced BERLIN flats only. Valid Until january 30, 2012*

Angry Birds + Makeup Kit + Leopard Print Birthday Cake! :D
This is by far the cutest and most stylish cake I have ever received! My friend had it customized at SugaRush Cakes with all the things I love. At first, he couldn’t decide between a “kikay kit” or a cliche Angry Birds cake so SRC suggested to have it combined. Pretty cool huh?! :)

Everyone that follows me on Twitter knows that I’m a Leopard print addict. Hence, the Leopard print base. I actually thought it was the edible part so I tried to slice it. Turns out, the “edible base” they were pertaining to was the makeup kit! *major boo-boo*

Check out the badly beaten pigs in lipstick pot containers. Love the details of the bruises and missing tooth. Go team Angry Birds! Wuhoo!! *o* I still have these stored in an airtight container because they’re too cute to eat or throw out. (Note: My Birthday was October 20) Lol.

The makeup kit reminded me of Lancome’s Absolue Seduction Travel Set. It comes with all your makeup needs~ just like this one! I enjoyed chewing on the mini-makeup brushes, eye and lip palettes even though it was kinda weird coz I’m chewing on my tools. Wish I took a decent photo of what was inside. Unlike other fondant cakes that just look good, SugaRush excels in both taste & design. This one was a yummy Vanilla chiffon cake.

The dedication was (I guess) done this way because of my favorite show, Gossip Girl. “Happy Birthday! xoxo” was written on the mirror (foil) using food coloring. It really looked like it was written using lipstick. BRILLIANT! :)
Thanks for this amaaaazing cake, Har! I sent a few slices to my friends and they all loved it. Will definitely order their animal print cupcakes soon!!

Don’t just shine, SPARKLE!! ✩ [Late Birthday Giveaway!]
Makeup is like painting; one must always start with a clean canvas to come up with a brilliant masterpiece. A lot of people think that having great makeup is the secret of celebrities and models to having beautiful photos but in fact, they won’t look ravishing if they don’t have a clean face to begin with.
Being a beauty blogger, I have to test several products and try on countless makeup looks every week. It’s really hard to maintain a clean and pimple-free face given that I’m always in full-makeup during events and I doodle on my face whenever I’m bored. Hence, the vain pictures in this entry. :>
I love trying out new looks every chance I get. It takes me about an hour to apply makeup on myself even if I have already memorized the anatomy of my face because my goal is always to look flawless with as LITTLE makeup as I can apply. I think I’d rather step out with zero makeup than with bad makeup. *lol* And when I have pimple/s, I’d rather stay home than put on a thick layer of concealer over it because makeup will only worsen acne problems.
Some people assume that I have no skin problems whatsoever because I always look made up but I am struggling with BIG PORES on the nose area. I’m afraid that pimples might pop out after a night of makeup testing-galore especially when it’s my first time to test out a product.
That’s why prior to and after applying makeup on my face, I always wash my face squeaky clean with Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Facial Wash to remove all dirt and oil to avoid my pores from clogging.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been using this product for over 2 weeks now and it has improved my skin a lot.
My face is less oily even after going around the metro for errands and projects. Now I don’t have to worry about getting unwanted guests on my face like zits or pimples after being a makeup guinea pig! Hee :>

(Thanks to Patrick Uy for the photo above.) This was taken after a week of using Nivea Sparkling White Foam and I can see why the product is named that because I look so white and clean, kulang nalang I sparkle like glitters in real life!
**Last week, I celebrated my sweet 16th birthday.(Juust kidding!) I got really sick so I didn’t have the time and energy to conduct an online contest.
So, as a late birthday giveaway, I will be giving one special reader a chance to win a slot to my next MAKEUP WORKSHOP! :D

If you haven’t read about it in my previous entries, click the links below. I guarantee you, it’s a fun-filled day with skin care lectures, makeup lessons wherein you’ll learn my makeup secrets and loads of freebies! Did I mention, EVERYONE will be getting a Nivea Visage Sparkling White skin care set too? ;)

Crazy Halloween Ideas for Couples & BFFs
Are you excited to dress up as your alter-ego this Halloween? Want to surprise your friends with one-of-a-kind costumes?
Here are some wigs & ideas that I shot with couple blogger/models LOVECHIC (Seph & Shai) for Catwalk Cosmetics.

“HIGH ROLLER ROCK STARS” ~Be an overnight sensation by arriving in this outfit and be prepared to rock and roll with your friends!!

Don’t forget to check my ‘Glam-rock’ step-by-step makeup tutorial so both your makeup & ensemble will blow your friends away!

If you’re too lazy to dress up and want something effortless, why not go out as an EMO/ Goth? These clip-on black bangs w/ white streaks should do the trick! (or treat) Now all you have to do is steal your mom/sister’s eyeliner if you’re a boy…… *hee*

“GROW OLD WITH YOU” ~Imagine partying as a grandma or grandpa— now that would be hilarious!! Don’t break your back while showing your moves on the dance floor though.

Makeup tip: Use a powder that’s one shade lighter. Apply a little bit of concealer on your eyebrows then top it off with white eyeshadow or powder.

Did I mention, the grandma wig comes with a cute bun!! *hoho*

“THE BEATLES” This wig is sold in a set of 4 only. Catwalk Cosmetics doesn’t want people to run into each other with the same costume idea so be the first to reserve this set and get stalked by fangirls while you’re out during Halloween. :>

Outfit idea: Plain polo & black long sleeves. How easy is that!? You can wear round shades too so you can channel the legendary John Lennon.
Most of these wigs are 1 pair only and are available at CATWALK COSMETICS. Be sure to give the discount code: “TrickyTreat” when texting in your orders to get a free gift! ;)
More looks to come this week. Feel free to give costume/ makeup look suggestions below via Disqus. Enjoy the weekend! :-*
Halloween Makeup Tutorial: Glam-Rock Eye Makeup

Get ready to party like a rock star this halloween using this Glam-Rock eye makeup tutorial! But before anything, you will need the following eye makeup:

- Bright-colored Eyeshadows | Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Palette
- Eye Primer | Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
- Black Eyeliner | MAC Blacktrack gel eyeliner
- Nude Liner | Makeup Forever Lip Corrector
- *non-makeup related* but essential for this look: Rockstar Wig

STEP 1: Apply Eye Primer on your eyelids. This will make your eyeshadow appear brighter and stay on all night without any touch ups. Etude House’s Proof 10 Eye Primer is a steal at P200+ only compared to Urban Decay’s primer potion which is priced at over P1,200.

STEP 2: Apply white or silver eyeshadow over your lids. Stick to the shape of your eyeball. I used Catwalk’s Disco Silver.

STEP 3: Apply any bright warm shade (pink, red, violet) above the silver eyeshadow in this direction. You will form a shark’s fin-like shape. I used Catwalk’s Purple Lotus.

STEP 4: Using an eyeliner, draw a line above the purple eyeshadow. You can create a curve on the top part to make it look edgier.

STEP 5: Draw on your lids starting on your inner lash line. It is easier for me to work with a gel liner than an eye pencil because it glides on smoothly. Try MAC’s Blacktrack gel eyeliner. Or if you’re on a budget, Maybelline has a similar product.

STEP 6: (Optional) Add a 3rd color on your inner eyelids to make your eyes look more colorful and artsy. Catwalk’s shimmery Teal eyeshadow is the cherry on top of this look!

STEP 7: Using a nude pencil, draw on your lower lash line. You can also use a white pencil but it might look a bit anime-ish so stick with nude colors. Makeup Forever’s nude pencil is normally used to correct one’s lip shape (hence, the product name) but I discovered that it can be a *cheat* way to make your eyes appear bigger by using it as a liner.

STEP 8: Using a small and thin flat brush, apply pink or purple eyeshadow below the nude line. Once everything is done, glue on your falsies then you’re good to go!

CHARM Travel Pro Makeup Brush Set | Tips & Tricks | My Top Makeup Picks
Whether you’re a professional makeup artist or just really into makeup, one can’t do away without a decent makeup brush set.
I’ve been practicing makeup since 2005. I started out with a 5-piece brush set but as my obsession & makeup career grew, I became more knowledgeable & picky with my makeup and tools. I currently have 3 brush sets; one for shoots, shoots with friends and one for personal use. I find it hard to carry my ‘personal brush set’ around because of the long handles and bulky leather organizer so I had to look for a more compact travel set. That’s when I came across CHARM’s Travel Pro Makeup Brush Set.

Obviously, I got lured to this set because of the pink & black motif & its fashionable leather case. But with long-term investments like brushes, I had to make sure that the quality is as nice as it looks.
Before buying a brush set, one must always consider the brush hair quality, material and hair fall. To check, just sweep it on the back of your hand. Make sure that it’s soft and isn’t harsh at all because rough brushes can damage your skin. In order to know if the brush hair is sturdy, lightly pinch it a few times to see if the hair comes off easily. CHARM Brushes are made from the softest mix of animal & synthetic hair so they passed this test with flying colors. (more on pink, of course!)

CHARM Travel Pro Makeup Brush Set comes with 14 brushes and a black leather brush organizer/ case. This set contains all the basic/ essential tools that is needed to achieve your desired look. I’ll share the function of each brush and my favorite product that corresponds to it.
Face brushes: (L-R) Concealer Brush, Foundation Brush, Angled Blush/ Contour Brush, Powder Brush, Stippling Brush.

STIPPLING BRUSH ~ This brush is a combination of nylon & synthetic brush hair to create an “airbrush finish” when you use it to apply liquid foundation. It can also be used to apply loose powder or blush. Always have a separate stippling brush for powder & liquid products.

FOUNDATION BRUSH ~ This nylon brush is used to apply your favorite BB cream or liquid foundation.

A lot of people have overlooked the Dream On Foundation from Etude House because of the popularity of their BB Cream. This liquid foundation is not oily at all and has a hint of yellow-brown so it’s perfect for Chinese or tanned Pinay skin.

CONCEALER BRUSH ~ Use this brush to blend in your liquid or cream concealer on your eyebags and blemishes. For full-coverage, use MAC Studio Finish concealer. Don’t buy concealer that is too light for your skin because it will make hideous “white eyebags” appear in photos when the camera flash bounces from it. *eek*

POWDER BRUSH ~ I prefer using a brush over sponges when applying powder. In fact, I told my students to throw away their sponges because they tend to apply too much makeup with it. A lot of them were amazed at how they were able to achieve natural looking makeup by using powder brush & dry application only.
This brush can also be used as a BLUSH BRUSH if you intend on using the angled brush as a contour brush. To find the apples of your cheeks, make a big while applying your blush.

ANGLED BLUSH/ CONTOUR BRUSH ~ Since I have a round/square face, I always contour my jaw line to make my face appear slimmer. You can use this brush as a blush brush if you don’t plan on contouring your face. Insider tip: Catwalk Cosmetics will be releasing contour palettes soon! (photo above)
Now, let’s move on to eye brushes…

Eye Brushes: (L-R) Wet/Dry Eyeshadow Brush, Angled Eyeshadow Brush, Blending Brush, Pencil Point Brush, Flat Liner Brush, Bent Eyeliner Brush, Eyebrow Shading Brush, Brow Spoolie, Lip Brush.

I’m glad that this travel set comes with 4 different types of eyeshadow brushes because I love to layer and blend as many colors as I can on my eyelids. Eyeshadow brushes are very common but there’s one certain brush in the CHARM set that isn’t found in any of my old brush sets…

.. The BLENDING BRUSH! This brush is my favorite out of the 4 eyeshadow brushes because it has multiple functions. It can be used to highlight the brow bone by applying highlighter below the arc. It can also be used to apply a soft amount of eyeshadow on the crease. Now I always dab a small amount of my favorite neon pink eyeshadow from my Catwalk Runway Palette as my finishing touch. (photo above)

BENT EYELINER BRUSH ~ The most unique brush contained in this set. The thin and fine hair & bent brush makes it easier to apply cream-type eyeliner. My favorite eyeliner style would be the winged/ cat eye and I always use Maybelline Lasting Drama Liner in black.

FLAT LINER BRUSH ~ This can also be used to apply eyeliner but I use it to apply brown or black powders on my lower lash line to make my eyes appear bigger.

EYEBROW SHADING BRUSH ~ I’m very OC when it comes to eyebrows so I always have this brush with me so I can shape my eyebrows with Makeup Forever’s Brow corrector. A lot of makeup artists are in love with this product and it is almost always out of stock in their shop so you better have your name wait-listed if you want to get your hands on one.

BROW SPOOLIE ~ If you have unruly eyebrow hair, use the brow spoolie to brush it into place with brow gel. I sometimes use it to remove clumps from my eyelashes after applying my favorite mascara, Maybelline’s MAGNUM Volume express mascara.

LIP BRUSH ~ The last brush that I use in my makeup routine. It can be placed inside your daily makeup kit because the handle also serves as its cover. It is unhygienic to directly apply lipstick on your lips especially when you’re not the only one using it so always use a lip brush. I’m very addicted to Etude House lipsticks because they’re not drying and it tastes good. One day I might actually eat one. :)) The lipstick I’m using in this photo is LUCIDarling #7. (Hot Pink)

P.S. This is not my real hair. I’m using light brown Bianca Catwalk Wig. :D
Marié Digby: How to get this romantic look ♥

A few days ago, I had the awesome opportunity to do makeup on Marié Digby (Youtube sensation/ singer/ song writer) together with the ‘Dream Team’ Tricia Gosingtian (Photography) Liz De Asis (Hair) & Valerie Chua (Headdress). Special thanks to our pageant queen and friend Alexis Go for introducing her to us!

Makeup used: (key makeup only)
- Marié brought along her own base/ liquid foundation because she’s afraid of breakouts when she doesn’t use this. Will reveal the brand on my next post; which will be a makeup interview with her.
- For the eyes, I used a mix of Catwalk Cosmetics eyeshadows. (Pearl White, Royal Blue & Black Noir.
- Bronzer & blush - MAC cosmetics Wonderwoman Golden Lariat Mineralize Bronzer then topped it off with a little Catwalk Cosmetics Tangerine blush.
- Lips - Etude House Lucid Darling #5 (lavender). Marié loved the color and scent of this lipstick. It’s one of my current favorites too.
We had a fun-filled afternoon while shooting this; followed by dinner and Happy Lemon. Marié is such a sweet and simple girl but she sure knows how to crack jokes. I’m looking forward to working with her & the dream team again! :>
Don’t forget to read my blog again for my interview with her plus tips on how to get the “Tangerine Kiss” look. ♥
